B&B La Collinese

I'd found La Collinese on an accommodation website a couple of hours earlier. I'd copied the address into Google Maps which misdirected me to another B&B, about 10km away, through a beautiful but very hilly wine growing area area of Lombardy. A bi of a problem as I was on a bike ona pan european trip, and by now it was dark. A quick phone call courtesy of the other B&B's owner and 20 minutes later Ornella's husband arrived to pick me up in his car and transport me to the correct B&B, where I was greeted enthusiastically by Ornella, who had prepared hors d'oeuvres and opened a bottle a neigbour's stunning local Riesling. We chatted for half an hour about my trip and their B&B and I retired to my rather quirky Marilyn Monroe themed room. The bed was huge and really comfortable, I had everything I needed including complimentary sparkling water and a quick Wifi connection to communicate with home and update my blog. Great breakfast in the morning with a couple of superb Cappuccinos, and a really warm farewell. La Colinese may not be mainstream but the warmth and friendliness of my hosts, along with the size and comfort of the bed and room, and the stunning views over the Vinyard makes this a 5 star if you are on a budget! https://www.justgiving.com/followthesun/
