Agriturismo Pietre di Gelo

We stayed at this agriturismo inn for five nights. It is a large organic farm which grows mostly olives and citrus fruits. Our room (one of only a handful of guest rooms) is in the main building. The property is in an area of other farms, but near the main highways that give you convenient access to the major sites in the region. (The first time you go there, it may be hard to find; speak to the host to get specific directions.) Because the property is so large, there was no nearby distraction...our stay was most peaceful and quiet.It is a pleasure to walk through the property or to drive from the entry gate to the main house (a long drive). The owner- an interesting man- lives on site; staff is attentive, friendly and works to please guests. Breakfast is as assortment of dairy, pastry and fruit. The freshly squeezed orange juice is a standout. This is simply an extraordinary place to stay for a peaceful and most restful time, and as a good staging point for sightseeing in the region.
