Albergo Magenta

This is one of the few hotels in Bognanco, more precisely in Bognanco-Fonti close to the Thermal Spa, which is open and not "for sale" or abandonded. Mauro and his team are doing a great job in the kitchen, the combine local products and recipees with modern ideas. The "traditional menu" as well as all recommendations on the small (yet well varied) menu are very good. The rooms are quite modern and perfect for a shorter or longer stay (of course: 3 stars, not 5). If you want to combine Domodossola with a shorter or longer hike and/or an afternoon in the Spa (not on Tuesday, closed!), then this is a good choice. Breakfast is ok but could be improved with local cheese and salami. WLAN is only in the lobby which is not a very cozy place, however, ok. My 5-star-comment is based on the excellent kitchen and the nice family, but of course, many things in the hotel and especially in the village would need some improvements.
