Fantastic
21 reviewsI have just come back from a five-day stay with my family. I stayed at the Orchidea apartment, with one simple but romantic bedroom, a toilet/bathroom with shower and a sitting room with kitchenette and a sofa bed where my kids slept comfortably. Everything seems new (no second-hand furniture as sometimes happens) and well taken care of. Good cotton sheets (Bossi branded), Deruta ceramics in the kitchen, free Wifi, courtesy set with shampoo etc., and especially the delicious welcome home-made tart are only a few of the details that can give you an idea of the place. There was only one Tv in the sitting room but, using free Wifi, my husband and I could watch films and TV programmes from our devices. And, to be honest, air conditioning was just fair, although present in all the rooms: my kids and I were perfectly fine but my husand suffered a litlle bit because he would have preferred more powerful units. We were told the other aprtments have more powerful units but there were already guests in there so we could not move there. By the way, we spent most of the time out playing in the well-mantained garden, rolling on the lawn with the kids, or ine play area (in my opinion, that could do with some new toys but my kids loved it all the same) and, msot of all, the stunning swimming pool (which I could access directly from the window door of my bedroom). Yes, because the swimming pool area offers you a stunning view on Assisi, both in daytime and at night. i am not in the habit of publishing many pictures but this time I'll make an exception. I also managed to take a picture of a shooting star on my last night there. In fact, if I have to mention one negative side is... that the photos published from the property owners do not show the beauty of the place. I was tempted not to tell anybody about this secret gem but the kindness of the family prevents me being so selfish. Last but not least, even if surrounded by fields, the property is only two hundred metres away from some terraced houses, the railway station at a walking distance, 2 minutes by car from Santa Maria degli Angeli and 4 minutes by car from the town centre of Assisi. Assisi deserves more than one visit but to eat out I suggest Santa Maria degli Angeli. One more thing: there are only five aprtments and the guests I found were all friendly but not noisy people. The swimming pool - though being a great attraction - was never crowded. And now, enjoy the stunning pictures taken from the swimming pool.
