Villa West

We had a really great stay at Villa West. We were 2 adults using 1 bedroom each so needless to say there was plenty of room for us! For ease of reading I'll list the pros and cons. Pros: - location, location, location. The villa is down a laneway off Eat Street in Seminyak, but set back enough to avoid all the noise. A short walk from endless places to eat and shop, and easy enough to get everywhere really. Taxis are plenty and readily available if you need to go further afield - the pool is the centrepiece of the villa with both the bedrooms and the living area facing it. The water temp was perfect when you got too hot sitting in the sun on one of the beanbags - the staff - the housekeeper Wayan is lovely and on hand to cook you breakfast as well as keep the villa in pristine condition. She will cook you breakfast using your own groceries or for an additional cost she will buy the groceries and cook for you. She made us Nasi Goreng on a few occasions! - The decor - it's a really nicely decorated villa with everything you need to feel at home Cons: - one of the bathrooms didn't have hot water in the shower. I'm sure this was fixable but we didn't mention it at the time because it was hot outside and there wasn't a huge need for a hot shower with the temp. - A few nights I could hear some sort of animal nesting in the roof and scratching about. It was a bit loud but when you've got the next day to lie by the pool and rest it wasn't really a big deal to be woken in the night! - There is no TV in the communal living area, just one in each bedroom. We didn't really watch TV that much but it would make more sense to have it in the lounge area so the guests can watch it together - A speaker would have been nice to play music through. I would have brought one if I had thought about it in advance All in all it was a great stay (8 nights) and I'd happily stay there again. There is a gate along side the pool which connects to the 3 bedroom villa next door so it's ideal if you've got a group of friends/family travelling together. Otherwise it remains closed.
