L'Hôtel Nuit Et Jour

What a lovely gem of a place. We stayed in one of the cabins (with my parents in another). Everything was there that we needed. It had a little kitchenette, fully stocked with plates, cutlery, pans, hob, oven etc. We had a cabin with a little ladder going up to cots on the upper floor. We didn't need to use this bit ourselves. The cabins are self contained units which adjoin each other but located in a way that you have a little outdoor area which feels very private. My parents had a lovely garden area in front of theirs, some have a deck and we had a terrace. Parking on site. The staff could not have been more attentive. The lady on reception spoke perfect English which did help with the more detailed things we needed to know which our French was not good enough for. On arrival we were shown to our cabins earlier than expected and we then grabbed our picnic and sat in the breakfast restaurant area overlooking the well tendered gardens. There is a covered pool which my parents used and they said it was very nice. Breakfast is available if you book the previous day and is an extra cost but not much. The bed was very comfortable and the whole cabin was spotless. Cleaners visit every day if required to change the towels, empty bins, change bedding if needed, vacuum etc. We had an issue with the outside light and once highlighted to staff, it was fixed the same day. Lots of things to do in the local area. We visited the beach a bit further along from the main town and it was gorgeous and pretty empty. There are many many restaurants in the local area and particularly on the seafront. If you don't eat fish or seafood, you will need to venture a bit further up the road to find something else. It's a thriving oyster and moules farming area and as a result, the prices for seafood are able to be kept low. Recommend the pizza place towards the very end of the road away from the bustle of the seafront restaurants. They also do moules and frites which were the best we tasted and the pizza and tagliatelle were perfect - you will need to reserve a table in high season. The hotel gave us some recommendations of restaurants away from the seafront and we spent a lovely evening eating at one of them up high with the most wonderful view of the sea and the rocks and of course Mont St Michel, which is only a 40 min drive away and well worth the visit. All in all Hotel Nuit et Jour is a fabulous place to stay, reasonably priced, great service, spotless environment and very welcoming. We shall return!
