Hotel Klimetica

Quiet family hotel near Ohrid lake. Comfortable room with romantic view to the whole lake, good service and delicious food. Interesting lobby with tables made from fusing glass. A lot of trees around and fresh forest air.

We were booked into the Hotel Klimetica by the festival organiser so we only had Trip Advisor to go by before arriving.
We had six rooms in the hotel and a lot of equipment so on the plus side the hotel had a working modern lift. We personally had a balcony room however most didn't but that is just luck.
So on the down side although you can see the lake and you can get quickly to the lake, it is accurate to say walking distance,  what there isn't is a recognised path and you have to walk on a very busy main road to get there.
It doesn't have a pool so you will probably wish to go to the lake. 
On the upside beautiful views of the lake, friendly helpful staff who can speak better English than we could Macedonian and some very nice hotel features such as veranda breakfasts with waiters, an ornamental pond area where we practised and conference rooms.
The hotel were extremely relaxed about us rehearsing and were very helpful.
The food hmmmm ok I'd say for budget it was fair. There were days were it was spot on and I'd say home baked chocolate coissants was one such day and others where it's was a no thank you and a burger at the beach. Still no major complaints to be fair just not really my cup of tea. However the beach near the hotel was brilliant, family friendly, a deck chair was 100MKD which is about 1.20 for the day and ice cream was about 70 to 90 MKD and a slap up burger meal was 200MKD which to be fair is 2.40 and was an amazingly tasty portion especially the bacon and cheese one which is cooked in with the burger.
The rooms were fine. You pay extra for air con. They were clean the bed was very comfortable and well serviced by the staff.
Finally you can walk to Ohrid but you will be entitled to your Bronze Expedition award! So get hotel to get you a taxi it doesn't cost much.

I liked my stay there, the food was great and the service in the restaurant was good. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that we didn't have hot water in the shower (only at 3-4 AM). It is close to the beach which is great and the view was at lakeside.

Band Trip to Ohrid

Nice hotel

Built on a cliff, around 5 km from centre of Ohrid, this a little bit old fashioned hotel offers one of the most spectacular views on the lake. Still, there are many disadvantages, especially about quallity of rooms and their equipment. Since hotel is obviously not renovated for many years. The biggest problem was bathroom, which had moisture. Also, the heating was very low, and in the room was always coldish. Also, the restaurant is just awful, the food is very delicious but the variety of choice is very narrow. The stuff was very proffesional, friendly and kind, and they represent the best of the hotel! 
One of the best experiences that we are bringing from this hotel is visit to the cave-church dedicated to Saint Stephen, located some 100 meters above the hotel, with a terrace in front of the church that offers probably the best view over the lake in whole area!!!

Modest hotel, on beautifull spot

There are rooms that are renovated - these with lake view. But all others are not touched from 15 years - cold, smell on cigarettes, no balcony, old windows, park view, no mini bar or fridge. The only good thing is bird singing. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is OK, nothing special. Located 3 km from center of Ohrid and no public transport is available. You need a taxi to the city.

Simply cancel your travel if this is the hotel you will be staying at. Completely outdated and filthy. Lift was not working. As soon as I entered our room I saw the 1cm all over. It seemed as if no one has cleaned it for years. I do not think that this property owns any hoovers because the carpet was filthy and stained. The beds were alright but seemed dusty. There was a nice sized wardrobe but it was dirty. There were blankets inside but they seemed to have just been stuffed there and not folded. The bathroom was tiny and we could not have a comfortable shower there. The tiles were full with black mould that has built up over time and no one has bothered to clean. The shower was rusty and half the holes were blocked. The toilet was not even drilled to the ground and there was a foul smell coming out of it. We could pick the toilet up and take it home if we wanted. We celebrated the New year while at this “Three star” hotel and we simply asked for an iron so we can get ready for the event. We did not bring it because we thought that the hotel must have such simple item. They did not. We begged for it and they said they did not have it. This hotel is part of a “luxury complex” so we asked if they could ask at the other hotel if they could give us an iron. They refused. The cleaning lady came to “clean our room” - did not bother putting toilet paper. She “made” our bed, but kids could have done it better. 
Do not even start me on the food - joke. They made absolute joke out of us by giving us this food. The meat was as if it has been frozen for 20 years. It stunk. It was dry. The food is meant to be a buffet but they gave us 4 options of salad as a starter and that was it. They also had a soup but this was just water and one shredded carrot together with a few grains of cous cous - JOKE! Breakfast was also a buffet but it was awful. Barely any choice and it was either dry and inedible or oily and greasy. They served the leftovers from the night before. Did not even have a slice of bread available. They had some buns but they were so dry and old they were barely edible. 
This filthy and disgusting place absolutely ruined our celebration. The only good thing that saved it were our trips in and around Orhid which is very nice and beautiful place. But while we were at this “hotel” it was horrible. It seems that the owners of this place are only money hungry. They should close this place down, bring it up to standard and then re-open and advertise it as “luxury complex”. 
For your sanity just cancel your hotel stay and book somewhere else as this place was horrible.

Cancel your tour if this hotel is written on the program. Some greedy Turkish tour companies work with this "hotel" to lower costs. This hotel doesn't have a nice thing except for the fantastic lake views. Rooms do not have a standard. Some rooms have a minibar and some rooms do not. The receptionist could not find the remote control of the air conditioner control. The springs of the bed were broken. They refused to change the bed. There was no wifi signal at our room and restaurant. One of the guests was stuck in the elevator. Another guest noticed it. The bathroom was very filthy. There was no hairdryer. Meals were below average. No tea bags for breakfast. This place should be closed immediately.

Terrible

I wainted so long for my food, the hotel was nasty, the service was horrible and overall i didn't like it(neither my friends)
