Really lovely place to stop in Buxton for Breakfast. We had Oat Cakes with Bacon and maple syrup with fresh berries on the side. Delicious and the coffee was sooo good. The building has a really up market feel. Would highly recommend a visit. Oh and great staff.

Was at a wedding at Crescent for the day , but chose to stay at No6 .
Best decision ever . Smart / Chic / Comfortable accommodation . Great Bed , Great shower ,  Fantastic breakfast . Recommended . 
Would definately recommend to familly friends , and will definately stay again.

Finding this place was a real surprise. My room, the Dome, was at the very top up several flights of stairs, the last being very narrow. But it wasn’t a room, it was a suite. Nice little sitting area, big comfy bedroom. Spotlessly clean. The staff were really kind and helpful. And there were the little touches, like plenty of tea bags etc. so often you just get two.
Worth being aware that there’s no staff on the premises when the tea room is closed.
It’s right in the centre and so many interesting things nearby. I’d certainly stay again.

GR8 stay @ No 6

A lovely surprise.

Booked through booking.com discounted rate of £92, which we now think was still overpriced. We were given the "dome room" basically in the loft space accessible by a tiny narrow staircase, I'm 6ft 17 stone, not easy to get to. Would also love to know how and if they have a fire safety certificate for that room, as I would not want to get out of there in a hurry.

When we arrived, at first it seem to much bother to check us in, seemed more interested in serving food.
Location is great though a short walk from all the bars and restaurants.
Parking was difficult at first but eventually found a space, chargeable up to 6pm
After 5am ish no staff on site, 
Overall pretty disappointing

Here’s the good first ….great location for Opera House, lots of nice eating ,drinking places nearby. Parked outside which was helpful. Beautiful old building with traditional furniture. Pleasant staff member showed me the door to my room. 
The Dome room, for me, would not have been my choice sadly. It is essentially the loft space, up many many, stairs the worst of which are those that reach the room itself, irregular steps with a very tight turn and low headroom .  How anyone would negotiate them with a suitcase I wondered. It was however nicely furnished and lit and had a very comfy bed, with nice bedding and pillows.
My overriding concern was egress in event of fire. Yes I had my own fire extinguisher thank you !  The  windows did not seem large enough to climb out of. 
Any concerns are addressed by phoning the owner who is not on  Site it appears. No shower just a bath. Bit weird that the  2 bathroom glasses  was placed right next to loo and neither  of them were clean I’m afraid . May  I suggest a little shelf above the sink?
As my booking was only one night there was no point asking to be moved. The Yale key which allows you to exit building needs about 5 turns or more to open the door argghh .
My grading reflects the safety aspect of this room not the standard .

Sadly not  the experience I hoped for …

recently stayed in your accommodation and feel the need to tell you how dissatisfied we were. We booked three rooms from Friday 26th August to Sunday 28th August. When we pulled up outside we were delighted with the situation and the look of the outside of the property. We were booked into the tea rooms for lunch and we were all happy with the delicious food we were served, by lovely staff. Unfortunately that’s where it all ended. Once shown to our rooms the disappointment grew. 
Room 1.
Dirty toilet
Toothpaste rings on glass shelf and toothpaste spit marks in sink. 
Broken shower tap.
Towels had marks on. 
Window had crack across whole pane and window wouldn’t stay open. 
Mould on window blind. 
Water left in kettle.

Room 2
Shower tray with old scum left on it.
Water outlet in shower absolutely filthy, completely black with dirt.
Water in shower didn’t run away, when you opened doors the water spilled out. 
Quilt to small for bed. Super king bed, double quilt. 
Water left in kettle. 
Blind broken, couldn’t open. 
Toilet flush not working properly. 

Room 3
Bed broken, my son actually rolled out of it. 
Rocking chair broken, my daughter in law, who is seven months pregnant was sat in it. 
Dirty bathroom.
Dressing table had dead insects on it and was filthy between top and glass. 

The Attic room was a real worry to me and I am concerned if it has actually be passed by fire regulations. The height of the ceilings and the narrow staircase are not ideal for occupancy, especially for my son who is 6ft 3 and his seven month pregnant wife. 

Seeing as I have had no response or apology from No.6, I feel the need to let others know how unsatisfactory this establishment is before they waste their money.
