Spent a pleasant night with my wife at The Talbot Hotel and we were well looked after by Craig and his colleagues. The hotel dates back to the 1600s and is very atmospheric and full of history. Although no evening meal was available the full English breakfast in the morning was excellent. Would stay again.

The hotel overall was good but dated; fine for an overnight stop. The shower was good. Beds were comfortable. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked.

Wonderful old building, friendly, helpful and efficient staff; clean and pleasant room; good breakfast.  Evening menu very limited but good and tasty food.

This hotel is pleasantly located in an old market town. It serves good pub grub and delicious English breakfast. Within the Main Street in which the hotel is located are a number of restaurants offering a choice of cuisines. Our room was very comfortable and the on-suite bathroom very well appointed - everything was in good order. Our room was extremely calm and peaceful. Kerbside parking was free and unlimited on time, as was the car park to the rear of the hotel. We booked the hotel as a stop-over on our journey north and are very pleased that we did! We would certainly think about using it again.

It feels like you're staying in your local pub, with friends.

Lovely traditional pub atmosphere in the bar. Breakfast cooked just for you.

Overnight stay re grt grandchild's 2nd birthday.  Roo. Comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast. Friendly service. On reflection as heating doesn't come pn till 10.00pm an extra blanket would have been welcome.

Talbot Hotel one night stay

We had been to a funeral in the area and decided to stay here afterwards. The hotel has a slightly run down look, but the bedroom was good, very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. We did not eat as we had had a meal after the funeral. Breakfast was really nice and I as a Coeliac well catered for by very knowledgable staff. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly no gluten free beer for me but this was found in the Royal Fountain. Perhaps the hotel will take this on board and have options in future.

Brilliant stay in a quirky old coaching house.

Always been a pub we've enjoyed stopping in but landlord and lady Nick and Katy are so welcoming and are always up for a laugh. Tonight we went in for a few drinks and tried their new Talbot sharer and it was to die for! 10/10 would recommend giving it a try! Definitely worth a stop by if you're in the area!

Amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Unusual little quirks to the property. Staff friendly and polite. Breakfast was served hot and cooked well. Only downside is the fact that the shower had mould and a musty smell. Could do with a good clean. Some of the paintwork on the wall in one of the rooms was chipped and ceiling where it had been repaired need a coat of paint. But overall a lovely little hotel.

We had a great weekend. The hotel was a great base for visiting lots of attractions, we went to the Severn Valley Railway and Ironbridge Victorian Town museum.The landlord, Nick, does a great job and goes out of his way to be helpful. The staff are all friendly and efficient. The room we had, although compact, have everything you need. The bed was very comfortable.We felt like we were well accepted in a local village pub and made friends with the regulars, including Byron, the dog. We ate in there twice in the evenings, great pub food, very hearty portions. The breakfast was very good. Altogether a great weekend, we will definitely return.

A fantastic find in a delightful little country town surrounded by beautiful countryside.  Hosts were very welcoming and helpful and happily recommended other places to eat that evening as the kitchen was closed when we arrived.  Proper pub inside as well with great beers and cider on pump.  Would happily stay here again!

Quick weekend getaway

Stayed here last night for valentines and booked for the special valentines evening menu. Well where do I start,it is a very friendly and welcoming hotel,you are made to feel like they have known you for a long time,right from the beginning.
The food was absolutely amazing and very plentiful (beat me),and fantastic value for money.
Our room was well maintained and very clean and had everything that we needed.
Thank you very much Nick,Katie and Jade for making our evening special.

Fabulous hotel 

Really enjoyed a short stay with family. Warm welcome from landlord and really friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. Rooms clean and tidy, comfy bed and nice ensuite. Evening meal and breakfast were both tasty, veggie options for both. Family and dog friendly. Dart board a bonus! Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Welcoming

Good customer service on arrival at reception.Room was fine and clean, the only thing I would pick up on was that when I went to empty the water out the kettle for morning coffee, the previous occupants had made coffee inside the kettle??A bit more prompt service/acknowledgement at Breakfast would have been good but the young lady was pleasant enough when she got around to me and the breakfast was really nice.
