For a reasonable price, this is an excellent base to visit Oxford and Blenheim  Palace. Breakfast is basic but well cooked. Evening meals were delicious. Rooms were clean and comfortable and landlord and landlady very friendly.  This is not 5* accommodation but neither is the price.

Stayed here so we were close to Harry Potter World. An excellent stay with very welcoming owners. Food is good and I would recommend the curry on an evening. The bedroom was excellent all beit on the top floor with low ceilings but was very comfortable. 

We stayed in the family room for 4 nights. Set in a beautiful quiet village. Ideal location for Blenheim Palace, Bourton on the Water and Oxford. Owned by a lovely couple who could not do enough for you. We have not slept so well in a long time. Although the rooms are above the pub/restraurant there was no noise from downstairs that disturbed us. Breakfast was 10/10 each day. It was nice to spend the day out and then have the option to have a drink or eat in the pub. Can recommend the fish and chips and if you like curry the chicken curry, vegetable curry, chicken pakora and samosa are outstanding, all home made. The room was very clean but could do with a little updating i.e the shower curtain was clean but the shower rail needs replacing. The shower (over the bath) was brilliant and powerful but the soap dish was stuck at the top so couldn't put the shower head in the best postition, also the hook to hang towels was not adequate and needs something different. Our only complaint is the banging of the doors especially at the bottom of the stairs leading out to the car park which could do with the door closers being adjusted. Very quiet and pieceful and no noise heard after about 10pm even from the doors. Would we stay here again. A big YES and recommended

Atmospheric and picturesque hotel in a lovely village close to Oxford and Blenheim.  Excellent food in the restaurant.  It’s not a five-star hotel but extremely clean, quiet, comfortable and affordable and great value for money in a very busy and expensive part of the country.

Had a delicious lunch at the Chequers Inn Cassington yesterday.  Took a wrong turn and found ourselves outside it.

Delicious chicken Caesar salad, everything freshly cooked.  Tasty chicken. Bacon and Anchovies in every bite and not over dressed.  Lovely fresh bread croutons too.  

Will be back !

Booked this hotel for my sister's hen and it could not have been more perfect! The owners could not have been more helpful and completely made the  experience for us.

We were able to use the conservatory for the evening meal and games and it was not only gorgeous but the perfect size for a meal and games. 

The food is incredible! Cooked fresh on the day and very reasonably priced. 

Would recommend to anyone looking for a venue for an event near Oxford and would book again in a heartbeat.

Chequers is a delightful family friendly pub with rooms that are cosy and clean. Food is exceptional and plentiful with a varied menu including Indian and British fare. The hosts are extremely welcoming and new manager Corey has outstanding customer service skills. Excellent location close to Oxford. We will definitely be back.

I stayed here for a weekend to see Blenheim Palace.
Such a lovely cosy, family run place. The owners are so friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to make the stay so lovely. Try the curries, homemade, freshly made and so delicious.
I will be returning and recommend to anyone.

It was good to find a proper pub/hotel that wasn't part of a large chain and offered breakfast and free parking - something that seems harder to get in the UK these days.
We stayed for 3 nights in a family room, which was on the top floor set into the roof. The room was big enough, tastefully furnished, and with a decent en-suite (ignore any reviews or comments that mention a shared bathroom). The host couple are welcoming and chatty and seem to do all the work themselves.

It wasn't particularly busy when we were there so I wonder how they cope when it gets full.

If you're looking for a place that's comfortable, friendly, and handy for the bus stop, then look no further.

Good value just outside the city

Located close to Oxford, it is very convenient, in a quiet town. The accommodation has off-street private car parking. The rooms were spacious, with a comfy bed; as well as a TV & free wifi, with a good sized private ensuite. Our rooms were up a tight set of steep stairs (but a heritage building). The restaurant had a limited evening menu (as there wasn't a chef on duty that night; only a cook). Breakfast was a very enjoyable full cooked English.

Enjoyable, value for money B&B

We had a good stay at this inn.  Our room was a bit on the small side, room 3, but the queen sized bed was comfortable.  It appears to be family run, and they were all friendly and accommodating.  The full English breakfast was good and if you chose to eat supper there as well, they offered the usual pub meals, as well as delicious Indian food.  If visiting the Oxford area, I would definitely recommend The Chequers Inn.

Lovely stay

Great location, great owners, piece and quiet

Stopped the night here due to close proximity to Blenheim Palace which we visited for the day. A warm welcome was given by each member of staff and they were all very attentive. Had an evening meal, all 3 of us had chicken curry which came with boiled rice, mango chutney and popadoms, very tasty although maybe a little hot for some. Avoid the over priced chicken samosas, if all the starters on the Indian menu are like this it just isn’t worth it and was disappointing.
Breakfast was nice enough and filled a gap although not of great quality. No issue with the family room which served our needs perfectly.

Stayed here for 4 nights while away for work. Lovely quiet pub with good, clean rooms. Landlord was polite and the place served excellent food, especially the curries that were reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again if I’m ever back in the area.
