I stayed the night before I went to army officer selection in Westbury and the staff here couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive. The room had everything you needed and it felt super cosy. Also got a great nights sleep! Breakfast was lovely and they even made me a pizza after the kitchen had closed as I arrived late due to train cancellations. The room was also very reasonable considering the location. 10/10, would recommend to anyone heading down to AOSB, a lot of people stay here for this and I can see why!

Excellent two night stay, despite COVID, we had to visit your son , before Christmas, it’s a great location and really nice hotel. Friendly staff, unfortunately no food in the evening, however breakfast was excellent.


Personally would stay again if successful in upcoming board, very accommodating and lovely rooms. Breakfast has plenty of options and would suggest the full English. The room itself is perfect for the occasion supplied with space, comfy bed and a large ironing board.

I have stayed at the Chalford house hotel many times over the past year. Every visit has been without fault and the staff are more than happy to help where possible. 

Ashley and Rachel will make your stay the best possible, and there is never an issue with a special request for a room or anything to make your stay better. 

The rooms have all been refurbished to a high standard in the previous few years; this makes the hotel all the more welcoming. The main building is double glazed in the bedrooms, to reduce the road noise. (I certainly couldn't hear any). 

The food is fantastic, with a changing menu throughout the week offering a whole host of different meals. The breakfast buffet and cooked breakfasts is also well presented and to a high standard.

Perfect evening stay, very welcoming couple who run the hotel on arrival, a lovely evening meal and Ashley ran a great quiz in the evening! 
Rooms were spacious and well presented, and we were located next to our teenage daughters who had their own room, with no issues.
Really nice breakfast in the morning served in an airy conservatory. 
All in all couldn’t ask for a better overnight stop on our way to South West area.

We visited from Australia to celebrate our dads 80th birthday. The food, service & accomodation was excellent. The warm, friendly staff made our experience special & memorable. Nothing was too much trouble & we are so delighted we chose Chalford House Hotel. We stayed overnight the room was comfortable, cosy & clean. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when next in Westbury. Highly recommended!

I have stayed at the Chalford House twice. Once in October and again in December and at no point during either stay did I regret or have second thoughts about staying there. All members of staff were more than happy to help with me locating where the assessment centre is and were they were also very encouraging and friendly. I would recommend the staying here to anyone going through the AOSB process or just looking for a fantastic dinner. All in all great hotel.

booked a Christmas lunch for 16 people last week for a bunch of work colleagues and what a lovely experience.
The food was fabulous and the service was excellent.  Two of our party were guten free/dairy free and this was catered for without a single problem.  They adapted the dishes so the food was the same but made gluten/dairy free.  Would definitely recommend this restaurant again.

We stayed for a night travelling from Wakefield due to a family funeral. I have coeliac disease and so rang ahead r.e. food. They weren't sure about cross contamination with gluten products and so I took down my own food... Not a problem. However, in the evening the chef came to speak to me about breakfast ingredients and reassured me around cross contamination. The next morning the breakfast was delicious and they even provided gluten free bread! So very kind to go out of their way! In terms of the room it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our dogs were welcome too which took pressure off finding someone to have them for us. You made a difficult and emotional weekend that bit less stressful and much more comfortable. Thank you.

The service here is excellent. The waitress was very patient while we were making our minds up what to eat. Lovely plate of complimentary home made bread while we waited for our main course. The lunch menu had loads of choice from sandwiches and salads as well as scampi, steak, curry and lots more. We all enjoyed our food, vegetables cooked to perfection and portion size just right. Desserts to die for, perfectly presented. I cannot comment on the accommodation as we did not use it. Chalford is situated in Westbury, Wiltshire, ideal for visiting Longleat and the surrounding countryside. We had lunch in the bar but there is a more formal dining room for evenings. The breakfast room overlooks a decking area, a huge cedar tree and a childrens play area. Beautiful setting. The hosts were professional, helpful and friendly. Truly I cannot find anything negative about the Chalford House Hotel and will be using it a lot more. Two course lunch and alcoholic drink was under £25 each. Money well spent.

Birthday lunch for seven ladies.

The staff at Chalford House were brilliant...going the extra mile to sort our an error with my booking (the fault of the booking agent NOT the hotel).

My room was in a separate building to the hotel and was warm, very clean, comfortable and quiet. I am a night worker and sleeping can be difficult, but I slept like a log!

My schedule allowed for only having dinner at the hotel twice, so can’t comment on breakfast or lunch.

The food was delicious and service friendly and efficient.

As a vegetarian, the options were limited, but the food did not disappoint and the portions were great!

Nothing was too much trouble :-)

I’ve just returned from a night at the Chalford with 7 family to celebrate my birthday. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly and hospitable. The staff couldn’t have done more to make our stay enjoyable - they helped me to plan our stay which included 2 teenagers, a disabled adult and my older mother who all had varying needs. Our meal in the restaurant was outstanding and excellent value for money. They even helped with birthday decorations and a surprise cake my sister made. The boutique, family feel of the hotel was perfect for us.

I couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more, and would highly recommend a stay there.
