We spent a couple of days here with friends and had an excellent time. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the breakfast and dinner menus were excellent, and the whole place was a delight to stay at. The bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Seemingly all recently refurbished with no expense spared - absolutely first class as far as we were concerned! The bar was well-stocked - some decent real ale on offer too. We would certainly stay here again.

Very comfortable and friendly with great service, really good food (excellent dexter steak!) and a good wine list.  We had a roof that was newly refurbished with lovely large stylish bathroom.  Service was friendly and swift.  Good breakfast with plenty of choice of cooked and other dishes.  Slight downside with a bit of road noise.  Good location for walking trips

Lovely place, very comfortable. Recently refurbished. Rooms, food and beer all superb, easy to find, lots of parking.

Breakfast was one of the best I've had in years.

Staff and owners genuinely care about their customers.

We only stopped for Tea and Cake but we found the staff polite and attentive and the Inn looked fresh and newly decorated throughout - especially liked the lovely clean toilets! A big pot of tea and delicious cake, both great value. I think some of these photos must have been taken before the refurbishment as we didn't see any of these on our visit.

We booked a table at this new refurbished Inn, to celebrate moving to the area 2 years ago. We have dropped in for a drink a few times, and are impressed by the decoration and the friendliness of the staff. Our meal was excellent - the belly pork melted in the mouth, and everything was surprisingly reasonably priced; for the standard of cuisine.  

We stopped for lunch on way to Trecastle antiques. The food was delicious, excellent quality, home made. Lots of care taken to prepare and present and reasonably priced. If only more places were like this. The service was excellent too. We will be back and would highly recommend. 

What a treat we had when visiting The Castle Coaching Inn last night. This is just about our nearest restaurant and we were so pleased to find such fine quality dining, at last. I ate the five bean tempeh with sauerkraut, mint, coriander and coconut yoghurt, to start. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was delicious. New flavours, new combinations and a triumph! The rest of the meal was fabulous too. Try the Eton Mess for pudding - delectable, 
I don't normally write reviews but this meal deserves one. I am seriously impressed and thank Andre and all. I'm already looking forward to eating here again very soon. 

Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch after a morning exploring the Brecon Beacons. Generous portions,  the roast beef was succulent, and the whole meal full of flavour especially the cauliflower cheese. Delicious. Thoroughly recommend! 

I visited the Castle Coaching Inn last night,for the first time since it's refurbishment and I was very impressed. I went with friends who had already eaten there,and highly recommended it. The first thing  one notices is the complete refurbishment. It has been done to a very high standard, and has resulted in a smart,tasteful and welcoming bar and restaurant area. The selection of beers and wines were excellent,and both were to served perfectly. The meal was absolutely  superb, and we all enjoyed it greatly. Frankly ,it  wouldn't have been out of place at a high end,city restaurant. I can only compliment the chef on a job well done. The staff were friendly, welcoming and courteous,as well a patient! (They had to wait quite a while for the 3 of us to get round to looking at the menus.) The prices are very reasonable, particularly given the quality of the establishment and the food. I congratulate the owners on a superb job of bringing this lovely old place back to life. Both my neighbours and I are looking forward to visiting again soon. Highly recommended. 

Great to have our local pub and restaurant reopened and it is just getting better and better. New chef started this month and the food on this visit was excellent. Lots of fresh ingredients and loads of specials - so LOTS of choice. I had the fishcake starter that was massive (which made eating dessert a real effort 😊).  Chicken main course with mash and creamy sauce was moist and delicious. The Rice pudding with mango special and the Banoffi pie (both made in-house) were superb. We'll be back soon!!

Staying locally after walking Snowdon The Castle Coaching Inn was recommend to us.

A lovely historic building with good parking at the rear.

We had booked which is recommended and took our table in the dining area after ordering our initial drinks at the bar. 

We ordered the slow roasted Welsh lamb with leak mash and a selection of vegetables, the baked salmon in a leak and cream sauce and fondant potatoes, and the lasagne with garlic bread. 

The lamb was the best I have ever tasted, succulent and flavoursome, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce was wonderful, the lasagne was a tasty generous portion with great garlic bread.

All in all a fabulous dinner with really nice friendly chatty service from the staff.

I had the pleasure of staying for 8 nights as part of a work trip.  The owners are incredibly welcoming and accommodating.  Food excellent (amazing Gannon Steak) and the big, open fire in the bar was very much appreciated following a cold day on the hill.  Nice locals drop into the bar of an evening which was another really pleasant part of the stay.  Accommodation is very comfortable but without frills.  I had everything I needed for a 9-day stay though.  Trecastle itself has minimal services so factor in the run to Sennybridge or Brecon if you need odds and ends.  As a base for enjoying the National Park it's superb.  Antique shops looked intersting too.  I am back with work again soon and will certainly stay at the Castle Coaching Inn again. 

Very pleasant stay

My Partner and I stayed here on the August bank holiday weekend as part of a cycling holiday.
We were looking for a cheap and cheerful getaway, we got that and more. Love the old building, it may be tired in places but this added to the character of the country building, very comfy cosy room, breakfast was included and it was lovely- great eggs!
We would definitely come back. The host was lovely and he spoke with everyone like he's known them for years including us- which was a lovely touch.
