The food is lovely and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. My mother is disabled and I take her out for dinner most weeks, the staff can’t do enough to make her comfortable and she really enjoys her Friday outings

Once again had a lovely lunch at The Shoulder. First time l have had a steak and it was absolutely cooked to perfection for my liking. Thanks Chef. Puddings something else, flavours and very Moorish. Couple of pints and a Pina Colada went down very well.

Great fun at the George Michael tribute evening! Good value, great act and brilliant fun. Will return for food at some point. The weekly quiz night with free entry and buffet also look like a good reason to visit. Will keep an eye out for more acts in future!

Excellent. Lovely place. Great attention to detail. Friendly staff and very good menu choices. Wide selection of wines and good beers/lager/cider on draft. Fabulous evening entertainment at just the right sound level so we could hear the amazing singer as well as have a conversation. Our room was very sunny and bright, clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed. We are most definitely going back.

This was our first visit here, we stayed in our Motorhome in the car park, the food was excellent, we had fish & chips and the steak pie & gravy and Nachos as a sharing starter, good portion size, the staff were friendly and chatty. We really enjoyed our visit and would happily return.


Everything about this place is brilliant. The location is so peaceful with beautiful views and scenery. Nice friendly welcome and easy check-in. The room was spacious, well equipped and very clean. Bed was comfortable with plenty of extra bedding if needed. The room was warm (but not too warm!) and temperature could be controlled if needed.

We also treated ourselves to an evening meal which was delicious. Good choice on the menu for all tastes, and the food is clearly freshly prepared and very very tasty. Good value for what you get too. Staff were able to answer questions regarding dietary requirements too which made the experience even better.

Costain and the team were all friendly and welcoming and made sure we were alright and had everything we needed throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again! 

The food here is so, so good! Never had a bad meal here and it is so well priced! 

We recently stayed here after a day out locally and we had a really warm welcome. We were shown our room which was unique, comfortable and cute. The room was warm and it had a bath which was really nice!

I come here for craft fairs to and the staff will bring you food to your stall and really do help you as much as they can.

It feels like a perfect venue to me and we will definitely be back as it is such a brilliant place.

Amazing hotel and pub!!! Outstanding service. Food is to die for and portions are really big ... Please make sure you book a table as place is getting really busy and really popular...It was life music show on Saturday and we really enjoyed it,plus hotel and pub is dog friendly... Highly recommended!!!

Wow, wow, wow!!!Stayed for 2 nights with my family and dog. Rooms are immaculate, food was really good even for my son (fish fingers highly recommended) Live music on Saturday performance was amazing, really enjoyed it...Service from check in and in restaurant was outstanding (make sure you booked a table as it is really busy in the evenings) Beautiful surrounding area a lot of places to visit...Thanks Costin and Adina to having us!   

Fantastic food, the portion size is large, well presented, very clean, great service, great beer selection. Dogs and kids welcome. Would highly recommend to everyone and will be our go pub in the future.
