We stayed at the Surfside Stop for nine nights and found the guesthouse a total pleasure.
Dan is a brilliant, welcoming host and gives great local tips and information. The room was bright, comfortable and kept  very clean.
Only a few minutes walk into the centre  of Newquay and with its own parking, I could not give Dan and the Surfside Stop a higher recommendation.

This place was amazing, room was exceptionally clean & added bonus we had a sea view, we were made to feel welcome & nothing was too much trouble, Dan the owner had also had a dining kitchen area for guests to share, this was so comfortable, it had a homely upbeat vibe about it, plus it had family games which was a hit with my daughter, plus Dan's dog Brody my daughter absolutely loved him, the location was great right near towan beach. We will definitely be back!

Just returned from 3 nights here, Dan the owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area.
He saved us a parking space for the van in the car park when we arrived and on our second day.

His dog Brody is adorable and so very friendly.

The room and ensuite were spotless and our beds were made every morning.
We will definitely be back.

Greeted on arrival by Dan who made me feel very welcome, and was very helpful throughout my 5 night stay. Great location, minutes to the centre of Newquay and beaches. An unexpected bonus was a nice communal area with fridge/freezer/microwave and comfortable chairs and TV to chill out in when the weather isn't so good, and a comfortable room and bed which looked over the sea. The room also included a helpful folder with useful information about good restaurants, bars and takeaways to use. I would be very happy to stay here again.

We were warmly greeted by Dan when we arrived for a week's holiday with our grandkids. We had a family room with sea view on the top floor which had a double bed and bunk beds for the kids and a private bathroom. Room a bit small for 4 but otherwise excellent facilities. Good hot showers, clean towels regularly, hair drier and tea and coffee.
There is a guest lounge with kitchen facilities which came in very handy to prepare snacks and sandwiches. Plates and cutlery, microwaves and fridge freezer for guest use. 
Dan was very helpful giving us information on places to visit and an all round brilliant host.
Would highly recommend this accommodation and would return in the future

Me and my family came here for 3 days, we were greeted by a very friendly host. Me and my family went out the first night and got very drunk and made a bit of a nuisance of ourselves and were rather loud! The next day the host had a good sturn word with us which was well deserved, we apologised and that was the last we heard of it and tbh if I was him I would of kicked us out but he didn't,he is a very reasonable man,and his hotel isn't a party hotel which I respect. I have nothing but respect for him because the rest of our stay he still made us welcome. I would 100% recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed. He's a brilliant host and a brilliant man. My daughter and I spent 6 days at Surfside Stop and had a lovely time. It's only 3 minutes to the shops and 5 minutes to the beaches and makes a great base to enjoy all Newquay and Cornwall has to offer.
There is a really nice residents lounge with a TV, tables and chairs, board games and a view of the sea.
The owner Dan is a very helpful and nice chap. He gave us local tips on where to go and what to see and we really enjoyed the stay. I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived to a warm welcome from the owner, Dan. We were then blown away by the facilities and how accomodating the hotel was to our needs. The high street is just around the corner too which was incredibly convenient.
We had nothing but a good experience and I honestly hope to come back here again.

We stayed over for four nights. For the price  I can't fault the guest house and it's location. The host Dan was very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay plesent. For me this was a 5 star experience and I would more than happily stay again as well as recommend the guest house to my friends and family. Cheers Dan 👌👍

My daughter and I had a twin room with en-suite and it was lovely, clean and was tidied every day, by a really friendly housekeeper.
The location was perfect and within a 5 minute walk to restaurants, shops and the beach.
The owner, Dan could not have been more helpful and welcoming and clearly displayed how important his guests are to him, such a lovely man and his dog Brody was a delight, so well behaved and super friendly.
They no longer offer breakfast, but that is not a problem at all. There is a large, clean dining/sitting/TV room which has tables and chairs, to enable you to eat your own food anytime of the day. For us it was perfect, as no strict time to eat breakfast and the added bonus of being able to bring back a takeaway to the dining room; not the case in many other guesthouses. The dining room also has a large fridge/freezer, wine cooler and milk & sugar to replenish the room tea trays, should you need extra. Also owing to the location, it is extremely easy to pop into one of the lovely cafés.
We would highly recommend the Surfside stop, without any hesitation and it will be the place we will return to, should we visit that area again.
