Excellent hotel, a hidden gem, nice clean, compact rooms, with everything you could need, great host, excellent location,  nice bed, very warm though,  need to turn the heating down, most rooms have sea views,  on a dead end road, so not alot of through traffic,  noise etc. 

Good prices too compared to other hotels of similar standards.

Just finished a lovely stay at this hotel! Tara gave us a lovely welcome and nothing was too much for her! Our room was beautiful with lovely sea view and balcony, both our room and spacious en suite were immaculately clean. Our large bed was so comfortable! Hotel is close to the clock tower, aquarium, beach and everything else you need for a lovely weekend away! No issues with parking as we were able to park in the hotel parking, but there is plenty of parking all round the area. Honestly can't recommend this lovely hotel enough, and a wee bonus for anyone who likes their history, the novelist and poet D H Lawrence convalesced here in 1901 when it was owned by his aunt!

The hotel was spotless,the owners were friendly,and helpful. Great location,and I had a sea view. The hotel was the cleanest place I've stayed in. It's very close to the clock tower ,so easy to get to amenities. Lovely walk round the lake to the fairground etc. 

The hotel was a short walk from the town, situated with a sea view and road parking as well as parking behind the hotel. Our room was very clean and it was cleaned everyday by the lovely welcoming and friendly staff. We had an ensuite bathroom, which was large enough for us. We had the privilege of having a balcony which had a gorgeous view of the sea. Our stay was amazing and as two young people we had a wonderful stay and felt respected and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a lovely stay with friendly staff. 

Stopped in a few Skegness hotels and bed and breakfasts over the years and this has probably been the best I've stayed in.
Ideally situated a stones throw from the town centre but not too close to have rowdy drunks passing the hotel in the early hours.
The owner Dean was very welcoming and informative and joined us on one occasion for a chat on the front patio.
We booked two rooms one on the ground floor for my partners mother and the second on the top floor with an ocean view. Both rooms were immaculately clean and made up/tidied very day.
The only negatives was the bathroom was a bit small (although the ground floor bathroom was larger bit no ocean view -so pros and cons on which room you choose) and the floorboards were a bit creaky from the room next door. 
The whole hotel looked well kept/maintained.
Would benefit from providing breakfast and a small bar but the lack of this may have been due to the covid virus.
But would we stop here again?...yes! would recommend.

We have just returned from our second visit to this little gem of a hotel. From the moment we arrived and greeted warmly by Dean to checking out everything was faultless. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable and is perfectly placed for all the resort amenities. We would highly recommend the Woodthorpe and hope to return again sometime. 

Had a two night last minute booking here to make the most of the mini heat wave. Booked a single room with private bathroom. Didn’t make use of any meal facilities.
Very nice place. The room, although a small single, was clean, comfortable, and functional. Bed linen and towels were spotless and smelt lovely. Everything worked fine. Plenty of tea and coffee making supplies. Had a private bathroom across the landing, which again was of a very good standard. 
Met the host when checking in who is a very pleasant chap and helped me park my car in a tight spot.
Did I mention the price? Can you believe I paid just over £26 a night !!😎😎
For the single traveller, please make a note of this gem. Would recommend.

I have stayed here for 4 nights as a solo traveller.   Was made most welcome by the host.  Had a single room on the 1st floor (number 3) with a private bathroom across the landing which was not a problem and single traveller's should definitely not be put off by this.   I was even provided with a bath robe to use because of this.  There's  a shower, toilet and wash basin in the large bathroom and a wash basin in the bedroom.   I had a sea view which is unusual for a single room with a comfortable chair to sit and admire the views.  There was a kettle and tea and coffee was replenished daily plus a TV and excellent free WiFi.   Everywhere was clean and furnishings in the room and hotel maintained to a high standard.  Did not experience any noise from fellow guests at any time.   Breakfast is not currently available because of the Covid situation. Short walk from town centre and 10/15 minutes walk from bus/railway stations. Would definitely stay here again.  Excellent value for money.

What a warm welcome I received when I arrived about 2 hours later than planned. 
I had been traveling over 4 hours which was almost 2 hours longer than planned due to a significant lorry accident enroute  but I was welcomed and Dean just welcomed me and seemed concerned I had everything I needed.
The room was more than adequate.  It had a sea view, private facilities, tea or coffee making facilities, TV with multiple channels, WIfi and lots of storage space.  It was clean. warm and welcoming.  I looked for but couldn't find anything I needed that 
wasn't provided.
The breakfast they offer isn't cheap but it is very good value for money.  They offer a full English breakfast, cooked to order with good quality bacon, sausages etc and frankly I did stuggle to eat it all.   I couldn't manage the other items on offer as it would have been just too much. 
I found the owners have an extensive knowledge of the area, are friendly and treat their guests as I think they would treat friends.
In summary I felt welcome. the hotel more than met my expectations in terms of the facilities / cleanliness and I would be very happy to book another stay.
I'd like to add that as an elderly single lady this has been one of the better seaside places I've stayed in the UK.
The owners of this hotel do seem to go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.

Just got back from another fab stay at the Woodthorpe Hotel in Skegness. Tara and Dean do a fantastic job as hosts to their guests. Rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is amazing you can even have a boiled egg on request.. thanks Tara and Dean

A really lovely place to stay

We have just returned from a lovely nights stay at this fantastic guest house run by Dean and Tara, we stayed on the top floor and the room was lovely clean and comfortable, tea coffee making facilities.  The breakfast was lovely, cereals, toast, orange juice, tea coffee, full English.  We had a lovely meal at Tarantino's (Italian) which was just around the corner. I would highly recommend this guest house.

Lovely hotel perfect hosts

I booked this hotel for my elderly mother and my brother for a week at the end of June. From the start the owners were amazing, I was driving them to Skegness from Leeds for their stay and was spending the night in another B and B. On arrival Dean was great he assisted my mother to her room, a ground floor one as she has walking difficulties he offered myself and my partner a parking space for the night even though we weren't staying at his hotel, which we declined as our hotel came with parking. My mother and brother had a great weeks holiday looked well after by Dean and his wife. The following Saturday I drove back over from Leeds to pick them up. Luckily my mum's room had not been booked to new guests so the owners allowed her to keep her room as we weren't due to arrive at Skegness till midday. My mum and brother had a great week away made even better by great hosts and are keen to return next year.
