Beautiful room with four poster bed,  chaise longe and sofa which an incredible sea view. Lovely old house with many original features. Breakfast was delicious and staff were excellent,  polite and friendly...........................

Had an amazing 2 night stay for Valentines last week; the hotel itself is really stunning, very picturesque and in a quiet location on a hill over looking the sea and can see Sandown from the restaurant window too. Lovely clean and comfortable room which was situated on the ground floor- as they knew upon booking that I’m disabled so it was great that they took on board what I said and made sure it was accessible without having to ask! The bed is so comfortable and a lovely spacious bathroom too! The staff are so so friendly and welcoming, they’re very polite and attentive at all times. The food is phenomenal, the best full English breakfast I’ve ever had in a hotel with a gorgeous pot of tea to wash it all down, just so delicious. All their food we tried was exceptional and was nice to see different specials on different evenings, clearly a wonderful chef and care about the customers, I have a severe shellfish allergy which they went above and beyond to assure me and tell me each precautionary step they took to ensure my safety, which is always a wonderful thing. Such a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere too! Will definitely be returning, thank you for a gorgeous stay!

Absolutley beautiful dinner at Bourne Hall Country House Hotel tonight. Carpaccio of beef, lamb rump & chocolate & orange cheesecake. Both of us ate all 3 courses which never happens such beautiful food tonight thank you guys! 💕 Very happy customers. And what a stunning place to have a meal,big thanks to Callum and Tom for waiting on us and doing a fab job, and Alex and Chris for such amazing food 10/10 in my books

We have just had a wonderful six night stay at the Bourne Hall Country Hotel.
Made very welcome by Tom on arrival, room comfortable, sea views and spotlessly clean and tidy as is all areas of the hotel.
Callum is superb, funny, polite and provided excellent attentive and efficient friendly service throughout.
The food was outstanding, a different interesting menu each night, all to the highest standard thanks to Alex. An incredible strawberry pavlova and homemade soups, one morning croissants not delivered and Alex made them from scratch, wonderful.
This is a beautiful small hotel in a very peaceful location, well kept gardens and seating areas plus outdoor pool.

Cannot recommend highly enough and we will certainly return.


The Bourne Hall holds a very special place in our hearts. We returned for a stay in August 2023 as we celebrated our second wedding anniversary, having got married at The Bourne Hall in 2021.
Although the hotel has changed ownership in that time, the warm welcome and exceptional service remains unchanged. We would like to thank Sarah, Callum, Emma and Tom for making our stay very special and memorable, and for all of the little touches throughout our visit. We were able to make use of the outdoor pool and enjoyed a drink in the newly-decorated bar area. We were also thrilled with the afternoon tea we had, one of the best ever! It was also a very reasonable price. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were also lovely (highly recommend the pavolva for pudding!)
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, family stay or even a wedding venue, we couldn’t not recommend The Bourne Hall enough (and we do!) 
We look forward to returning many times over the years.

Very nice comfortable room. Nice garden. And the best is the staff. Superfriendly and helpfull. Always there to make the best of your stay. We really enjoyd the stay. Our children had a smaller room but even theirs was good. At breakfast they serve you the warm food. For the coffee I would advise to ask the cafetière as you do not like instant. But even that is already taken care of.

We had a four night stay here, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are really helpful and go out of thier way to make ypur stay pleasant. 

No evening meals so you have to go out.

Great breakfast. 

Its a shame the pool was out of commission and the heated pool was not working either but would definitely return here.

A great base for a small family

Stayed at hotel great place, lovely cooked breakfast great choice of juices, cereals and toast tea and coffee, comfortable beds and powerful shower. Reading previous review yes it's a trek up the hill to the hotel but this didn't bother us especially after your tea walk dinner off and used walking in Peak District.  Friendly waitress Sarah was very helpful and Reception staff. Didn't expect to use pool we were out for day so fine. We would definitely stay here again fabulous hotel. Keep up the excellent work.

Very impressed. All staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. We had breakfast and evening meals all were good quality food , cooked, presented well. Choice at breakfast was very good. Christmas dinner had it all....delicious.
This stay was a 'Victorian Christmas Theme' and we enjoyed music, dancing, magician and of course Father Christmas. 
A very big thank you to everyone. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

I would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay . The hotel was homely and welcoming and the rooms clean and comfortable and inviting. The staff were so efficient and obliging and made our time feel very special and full of laughter . The restaurant was beautifully laid out and the food was outstanding especially for a large party .
