We spent 2 nights here and really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful room that was spotlessly clean.
The bottle of wine and biscuits were a lovely touch.
Fantastic breakfast and very friendly and welcoming host.

We spent 3 nights here and cannot recommend it highly enough.  The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated.  We loved the added extras such as wine and cookies and breakfast delivered to our room was a real treat. The owner was so welcoming and helpful too.

We have just left slate house after a 2 night stay on our way to Scotland.
We cannot recommend this bed and breakfast highly enough.
The double room was nicely decorated and very cosy with a good size bathroom and good shower . Bed linen and towels lovely .
The breakfast was very nice both mornings and is delivered to your room at a time of your choosing I was unsure if I would prefer this to going down to breakfast but it worked fine. There is a table and chairs in your room and also a small fridge which the owners keep stocked with milk, orange juice ,water . Nice touches in room wine and chocolate teacakes .

Fantastic B&B, we stayed for 5 days. Perfect room (comfy bed), great hosts and delicious breakfast. Breakfast is served in your room as all rooms have a table in them, good news for us as we could have breakfast in our PJs :)). Lovely little garden at the back to relax in if you have good weather.

We spend a week at Slate Hall and can’t speak highly enough of the hospitality of hosts Mark and Monique. Our room was clean and tidy with everything we needed. The breakfasts , delivered to the room each morning, were delicious and set us up for the day. Ample parking off the road at the rear of the property. The walk into Seahouses was about 10-15 minutes which was fine . Would highly recommended.

What a find this place was! We stopped on our way to Scotland as we had never been to the Northumberland coast before. Mark & Monique were lovely hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. They were very enthusiastic about the area and recommended a couple of places to eat in the evening that were really good. We stayed in the Toulouse room which was very comfortable with an ensuite including the best shower we'd ever had. Breakfast was served in the room and we just ordered off the menu the day before and it was delivered at the required time. Superb breakfast which included a yoghurt and oats pot which was absolutely delicious. We have no hesitation in recommending Slate Hall and are already looking forward to staying again next year.  

A fabulous BnB with lovely owners nothing to much trouble and they go out  of their way to make you feel you have everything you need, , the place is lovely, clean and comfortable, you can have breakfast served in your roon, which has a table and chairs, the food is served hot and fresh at a time you can choose to suit yourself, it is just down the road from the main part of Seahouses and so its quiet at night, you can stroll into Seahouses in 15 mins. Its now on my favourites list for when we are back in the area.

We recently had a 5 night break here. What a find, one of the nicest b+b's we have stayed at. A proper home from home. Very friendly and helpful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was absolutely spotless and very cozy. Huge comfortable bed and large bathroom with a proper waterfall shower, and a good size. Breakfast was served in our room and great selection freshly cooked to your preference. I recommend the overnight oats, simply gorgeous. There is also a fridge for the 🍷. Private parking also. To sum up, we 100% enjoyed our stay, lovely hosts and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be returning early next year to visit the puffins around the Farne islands. Thank you to our hosts.

We were so lucky to have found this fab B & B in Seahouses.  Mark and Monique made us very welcome.  We stayed in the Royal room which had a huge bed and quality furnishings.  Bathroom had seperate shower and bath. Everything was spotlessly clean.
Breakfast is served at the time requested and brought to the room. Great choice of cereals, overnight oats with fruit and all the usual cooked items. It was excellent. 
Location is great too. Short walk to the harbour,  took about 10 mins. Bus stop is almost outside, and we got the bus to Berwick.  We walked the coastal path to Craster and caught the bus back. £2 for any single trip so very cheap and convenient. We walked along the beach to Bamburgh Castle which was fabulous.  Such beautiful beaches and hardly anyone on them.
We are already planning our return visit in the spring as we had such a great time. Thanks for a great stay. 


Lovely room, bed was really comfortable. The extra touches were really appreciated - chocolates, lots of teabags and coffee and excellent to have a plentiful supply of milk in a fridge instead of the usual tiny little pots. All round really nice touches added to our lovely stay.

Lovely bed and breakfast!! Monique and Mark are lovely!! Breakfast in our room!! Lovely!! Lovely room with table and chairs in our room! Loved the area here too! Beaches on this coast are exceptional!! Seahouses beach, beadnell bay and bamburgh castle bay!!! The old ship Inn was amazing!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Xx

Break away

This was the best B&B we’ve stayed in and we have stayed in many. The Royal room we occupied was spotless and so so comfortable. Breakfasts were spot on as was everything, even as far as the proprietor giving my wife flowers for her birthday and chocolates for our wedding anniversary. 
Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

A welcome break

My friend and I were walking the Northumberland Coast Trail. We got to our hotel in Seahouses, which had been pre-booked by a walking holiday company, to find they had no trace of our booking and were completely full. After discussion the hotel came up with a solution: they would put my friend in a room that had not been let due to a minor fault and they would try to find me somewhere else in the town to stay. The search looked to end fruitlessly as everywhere was full but at the last minute Slate Hall stepped in to help me out. I'm really grateful to Mark and Monique for doing so as they don't normally let rooms for single nights.

The hotel ran me to Slate Hall. It's quite a walk from the town centre but certainly worth the effort as it is quiet and well away from the bustle.

I was actually glad (and relieved!) to be here as the room I was housed in on the ground floor was absolutely beautiful.  A lot of care had obviously been taken in furnishing and decorating it. The bathroom was also great with a fabulous shower. The bed was also gorgeously comfortable and just what I needed after a 14 mile walking day.

Breakfast was served by Mark in the room. I opted for the soaked overnight oats which came with yogurt (I think) and fruits of the forest and it was lovely. After that I opted for the cannellini beans in a  tomato sauce with Chorizo, which was also great and a bit unusual. I appreciate having something a bit different as you can go off the "full English" on a holiday if you have it every day in a row. However, the usual full English options were also available. I really enjoyed breakfast.

Mark also kindly ran be back to the original hotel with my case for collection by the baggage carrier, for which I was also extremely grateful.

The missing booking experience was stressful but had it not happened I would not have discovered this wonderful BnB! It is absolutely faultless and I would recommend without any hesitation and would certainly book up again if returning to Seahouses.

Thanks again to Mark and Monique for baling me out and for their wonderful hospitality and support.

Chance discovery

We stayed 2 nights ( wish we could have stayed longer) and from the moment we arrived we were made welcome, warm friendly hosts who have paid attention to the little details that make a visit comfortable.  Little touches like complimentary welcome treats wine and biscuits, lots of refreshments, teas, coffees, fresh orange and chilled water in a roomy fridge,  lovely spacious , bright airy, clean rooms, big comfy beds, super powerful shower, enormous thick gorgeous towels. And a very tasty breakfast with options. Nothing is too much trouble. 
We felt instantly at home & couldn’t recommend this friendly B&B more highly. 
If we visit the area again we’d definitely stay again & we recommend  Slate Hall to everyone wanting to experience this fantastic area. You really can’t beat a trip to the amazing Northumberland coast & beaches. Thanks again to Mark and Monique,  a lovely family,  for making us welcome and for creating a wonderful welcoming environment, a fantastic B&B.
