I like staying at the Royal, as it is convenient for me. The rooms are clean and the pub grub is good as well.

Tidy and hygiene was brilliant friendly staff very comfy and relaxing definitely stay again highly recommended

My stay was very good , the staff were really friendly and made me feel at home I'm not one to complain but the beds could have been a little bit bigger but that's just my preference like a queen or king bed as a double bed between two you can barely move but other than that everything was spot on

Good value for money.  Good place to rest your head.  Staff fantastic. Will continue to stay there.

Very much budget accommodation, the decor is faded and tired, but, for the price, it was great. Spacious room, quiet, air conditioning. Decent pub grub. Comfy bed.

Booked a room for a couple of nights for myself and my son as a last minute break to visit some family. The room itself was nice and warm. However, when we check-in not a lot of information was provided and the website does not state accurate times for breakfast which made us miss breakfast on the first morning that we had already paid for.  Other than that, we've had no issues at all and the staff were very friendly.

Only one thing missing

The Royal Hotel is good enough. We come to Scunthorpe to see family and need a place to stay and the Royal hotel does the job. No frills, inexpensive and you get what you pay for. The bed is comfortable. The family room is spacious enough. It's a little dated but comfortable enough, staff are friendly and we've stayed here a couple of times and will continue to stay here

Basic but good!

Staff were brilliant all through Only disappointing thing was I’d booked a room with a double bed and ended up in a room that had two singles so wasn’t the best comfort but I arrived later in the evening and was so tired so didn’t go back to reception but wished I had as didn’t get the best nights rest Bathroom was somewhat tired and shower hose leaked but managed at least water was hot

Ok stay but probably not the best value for money

I enjoyed my stay, not the first time I have stayed here, but nice tha the receptionist remembered my face (not sure if that is a good thing).  Nice to be able to have a bath as well.  Only observation, other than the loose tap, was the glass shelf above the sink, that had one thing missing, the glass shelf !!.  Prices were good and the breakfast was also good.I will be staying there again

Stayed overnight for a business meeting.Staff were all very friendly and being in a Greene King pub meant some decent beer (although sadly the Abbot was off when I ordered) and the food (dinner and breakfast) were both pretty decent too, especially for the price.Handy for the Baths Hall if you're there for an event and a big Sainsbury's next door proved handy for me.It's a short walk into town, although it's a pretty ordinary and not very pretty part of town where the hotel is. It didn't feel dangerous, though, if you're of a nervous disposition. I came by train, but I would have felt happy leaving my car in the car park (as many had).My room was looking a bit tired with some stains in the bathroom and tatty paintwork. It was, though, clean enough and I slept extremely well, so I would say it was decent VFM if you're looking for something like that in Scunthorpe.

Decent VFM, but not luxury

All the staff are all really friendly and helpful, they responded my email quickly before my stay. I was supposed to get a mail delivered at the hotel and they tried their best to keep looking for my mail. It was really helpful for them to do so. The hotel room is clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is good, supermarket is just next to it and town centre is within walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to all.

How was day was okay we came down from North Yorkshire because of a family christening one or two things wrong with the room but it’s a room where we could sleep

There were some maintenance issues that the staff said they had been waiting over 3 months to get fixed via head office
