Lovely peaceful location. Delightful inn, very well kept beer in the bar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming The room we stayed in was lovely

Very friendly hosts, nothing was to much trouble, excellent evening meal and amazing breakfast, would definitely return when next in area

Room was clean and King Size bed was comfortable. Water pressure in sink was slow until I worked out how to increase it. Full English breakfast was huge and one of the best I have had in any B & B or hotel. Located in a quiet rural village and convenient for Rutland Water.

Great few nights here. Ideal location for working in the area. Had food one night in bar and was really good, breakfast good each morning, staff all very friendly and helpful. Room was quiet and spacious.

Very pleasant and accommodating landlady.  Clean room, good shower, comfortable bed, good meal, kind to the dog, nice warm village pub atmosphere.  All the things you look for in stay.  We would stay again.

All the charms of a country inn. Welcoming staff and locals, cosy bar with log fires and good quality beers & wines. The menu was varied enough without being fussy. The food well cooked.

We stayed for 3 nights over new year and due to the cold weather Emma kindly moved us to a warmer room. Much appreciated.

Excellent location for exploring the area especially for those like us new to the area.

Well worth a visit 

We stayed at The Coach House Inn for three nights.

We arrived early on a Friday afternoon and was greeted by Ollie, who was extremely helpful and friendly.  Sitting on a comfy sofa in the bar, drinking coffee, we were struck by the coziness and the friendly locals.

The bed was really comfy and we had a good night's sleep.

The morning greeted us with a great breakfast, cooked by Emma; I cannot remember a nicer full English.  If you stay, do try the homemade marmalade!

The house keeping ladies were so friendly and accommodating.


A great weekend's stay.

We had our 16month old black labrador puppy with us so we asked for a quiet spot to eat. They gave us the snug all to ourselves. The staff couldnt have done more for us and bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. The service was excellent, the food was superb. I couldnt recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff are an absolute credit to the business. Thank you.

Enjoyed an over night stay here on valentines day which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had  the 3 course valentines menu which we couldn't fault and the service was excellent from every member of staff we encountered. We stayed in The Luffenham room which was spotless and then had breakfast the next morning which again was absolutely faultless as was the service. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay at The Coach House a great one! Bar staff, waiting staff, kitchen staff and housekeeping - you do a great job!

Dinner, bed and Breakfast

Stayed here for one night as a Valentines treat! Arrived early afternoon, managed to sample a couple of pints of 'Timmy Taylor' - excellently kept. Had a pleasant light lunch home made tomato soup & coronation chicken sandwich. Really nice especially accompanied by another couple of Timmy Taylors! This was in the bar area, which is cosy and comfortable.
Rooms are comfortable & functional. Tea / Coffee facilities along with sparkling & still water are provided. Very clean rooms. Bathroom shower, no bath . No problem for us.
Be aware the ensuite is one person wide.
We had an excellent dinner, starter of Chorizo & prawns mixed in with Samphire - wonderful and compliments to the chef. Mains, Seared Salmon & a Steak - again extremely well presented and cooked to perfection. Puddings, can recommend the Lemon Posset or the Sticky Toffee pudding full of taste & just right.
Wine selection good, though a tad overpriced a Soto Mayor at £26.00 is a bit of a mark-up!
The dining area , is pleasant and casual.
The over-riding factor to why this was a good visit is the staff. Engaging, polite and service orientated. I did not get any names unfortunately. The chap that checked us in & served us lunch (I believe quite new) to the lady managing breakfast & chopping wood deserve a pay rise!!
Breakfast, excellent portions as in super size. Again a great chef in residence.
This establishment is 'dog friendly' I do not have a dog. However, I have and therefore have no issue with dogs or their owners. What I do have an issue with (not the Coach House) is owners finding the necessity to have there dogs in the dining room. This happened at dinner and breakfast. Totally unnecessary. Dogs in the bar , no issues. Maybe the Coach House will consider maintaining a dog friendly environment but no dogs in the dining area would be welcomed. Your thoughts?

Nice stay ...

Just had the most wonderful weekend in Leicestershire. I had read the reviews on this lovely Inn and booked it for my husbands birthday. We had a lovely cosy room on the top floor. We had the warmest welcome from a lovely young man on reception. In fact, all the staff were friendly, accommodating, and kind.
We were booked in as b&b, but reading further reviews also then booked our evening meal too. The food is amazing. We both had chicken and bacon pie. When I say the pie was the best we have ever tasted is an understatement, IT WAS   the most tasty filled pie, we had ours with veg and chips, so glad we ordered this meal. Along with the Angel Lores Larger, it was absolutely a fantastic evening. Breakfast the next morning was a full English it was hot, tasty, and filling with great quality produce. Thanks so much. We will definitely be back in the new year.

An amazing stay at this lovely Inn

Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The Coachhouse had a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Lovely big room on the first floor with a huge, comfortable bed. I had a great night’s sleep. Breakfasts were huge. I didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but my friends did and they said that the food was fantastic. Would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely old coach house

We recently spent two nights at the Coach House Inn and really enjoyed our stay.  The staff are friendly and helpful, the inclusive breakfast was excellent and we also ate dinner here and had lovely meals both nights.  

The rooms are clean and comfortable and the Inn is ideally situated for visits to Rutland Water, Oakham and Stamford.  Would definitely recommend.

Great Break

We stayed at The Coach House overnight to visit Burghley House and had a lovely stay.  The rooms are clean and comfortable, the parking is easy and convenient and the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was delicious and a much higher quality than I would normally expect at a country pub. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. Thanks Emma for a great stay.  Would highly recommend.

Great stay - amazing food

Lovely place to stay. They are very dog friendly,  and we got a very warm welcome along with our rather exuberant puppy who was bounding about the place and well received. The room was large and clean and nicely done out. Food in the restaurant excellent - more gourmet fine dining than 'pub grub'!  The pub at the front has a real 'local' vibe, good place to chat and drink away an evening.

Great location also, in a quintessentially sleepy English village with an ancient church, old golden stone houses etc. Barrowden is a short walk down the road also also worth visiting.

Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast slightly expensive but the overheads for a place like this (particularly at the minute with the difficulty for any industry to get reliable staff) are massive so not really a criticism.
