Both Dave and Paula could not do enough to make our stay here enjoyable, the rooms were spotless and the breakfasts were superb. Although check in time was not until late afternoon we arrived around 10 am and Dave gave us a car parking ticket for a discount price, really nice touch. Nothing was too much for this couple ! If you intend staying in Plymouth then you seriously need to consider this guesthouse you would not be disappointed.

Just got back from a bank holiday weekend in Plymouth and our stay here was amazing. Rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. Paula and Dave were fantastic, very accommodating and cook a great breakfast. Highly recommend staying here

We have stayed in some excellent B & B's and this is up there with the best of them. Paula and Dave are perfectly suited to this vocation. Friendly, professional and the whole property screams quality. Even a nit picker would have to go home disappointed, as every element was exceptional. Super clean, with a host of nice touches all around the property. Perfect breakfast area. Nothing too much trouble.
It was a privilege to stay here. Well done, you two....

Had a lovely stay at Squires Guest House,Dave and Paula are lovely, very welcoming and rooms and food were excellent. Couldn’t of asked god more. Dave even took us for a drink down to his local, everyone was so friendly.

Conveniently location just of Plymouth’s waterfront Hoe, Squires offers a warm welcome from hosts Paula and Dave. Having run the guest house for many years they provide a clean and comfortable house. Great breakfast too. Superb for SWCP walkers. On street parking

We stayed for two nights, visiting friend who live in Plymouth. 

Everything was brilliant.  We arrived earlier than check in, we were welcomed, shown to our room which was perfect for our stay.  
Cleanliness was outstanding, the breakfast on offer was cooked fresh, lots on offer. 
The hosts are friendly and nothing was any trouble.

It’s within walking distance to the Hoe, Barbican and town centre. Parking outside was £5 a day but there were spaces. 

Definitely would return if we have another trip to Plymouth.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Everything is covered from hairdryers to ironing boards and a book borrowing shelf. The hosts are very lovely people and gave a fantastic full English breakfast. Comfy, clean rooms with modern fittings. Great location just a short walk from the sea!

Stayed here for four nights over the bank Holiday weekend, beautiful guest house, beautiful staff, will most definitely be returning Paula and David perfect hosts, couldnt so enough for us and the children it's a ten from me thank you so much for making our holiday amazing

Fab guesthouse and amazing hosts

Perfect location and great value

Stayed at Squires Guest Rooms for one night on the 28th of October while doing some site seeing around Plymouth. Squires Guest Rooms is only a short walk away from Hoe Park by the sea, and local restaurants, which makes it an ideal location for your stay. 

Upon arrival we were kindly greeted by the very hospitable Paula and Dave, who showed us to our very modern and contemporary styled room. The room had  complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. WiFi also available for guests. 

The double bed was very comfortable, providing me and my partner a good night's sleep. The room also has a nicely sized smart TV, which you can log into Netflix, BBC iPlayer etc if you want to wind down for the evening. 

The bathroom was nicely situated to the side of the room via a sliding door, which utilises the space in the room very well. We were provided with a towel, hand towel and a flannel, as well as complimentary soaps and bodly lotions. A hairdryer was also provided.

The following morning me and my partner were greeted once again by the lovely Paula and Dave for breakfast. We were kindly offered a range of things to drink and selected the English breakfast and scrambled eggs on toast, which came with extra toast on the side. We both thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and it was cooked to perfection. 

Overall, we had a lovely one night stay and felt very welcomed by Paula and Dave. When we are to return to Plymouth, we will definitely stay here again and recommend it others. 



Great one night stay! 

I couldn't fault anything about this place. It was spotlessly clean and in a great location. The room was complete with tea and coffee facilities and toiletries. There was a nice little bed side light as well so you can relax and read in bed if you wish. There was a lovely selection for breakfast, from lighter options to the Full English, and a constant flow of tea and fresh toast. The thing that makes this place special however are the hosts.Paula and David (who has a beautiful singing voice by the way...ask him for a song..or go and watch him perform, we did and it was a real highlight) they were both so very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I truely enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone. A great little find in Plymouth. Thank you again. Claire the Ukulele girl and her friend Tim.

Lovely place to stay..spotless.

If you are looking for a well run, exceptionally clean, quiet & very friendly location that serves a great breakfast you need to book The Squires. Nothing was too much trouble and the owners deserve all the positive reviews.  Good night's sleep, very reasonable rate, within easy walking distance of the How, Barbican and city centre. Positive experience from phone call to book right through to check out.

Great stay

Had a one night stay for work and was very pleasantly surprised. Arrived at 7pm and felt thoroughly looked after until the moment I left the next morning(including the lending of a brolly to get me to my car in torrential rain!!) The place is gorgeous, spotlessly clean and has a lovely welcoming feel. The hosts were superb and very accommodating including getting up early to do my breakfast before serving time. Loved it, and it will be my first search next time I'm in the area.

Great little find!

Returned once again to the hospitality of the Squires and the lovely proprietors Paula and Dave.  This was our 6th stay here and it was as good as the 1st (and 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th).  Cheers guys for looking after us - readers can find my previous review(s) so I won't repeat it all again - needless to say I would always make the Squires my first guest house choice in Plymouth - excellent value for money and the most hospitable people I have met in all my travels to various destinations in the world.  Love and best wishes to you both - we have become good friends over the last couple of years and I hope we get the chance to visit you again real soon.

6th visit - home from home

Have spent the last 4 nights at this wonderful guest house. Ideal location for the Hoe, or for travelling to beaches, funfairs etc.hosts Paula and David are the most attentive i have ever come across.  Literally nothing is to much trouble.  Rooms are gleaming,  bright, airy and very well designed. This is a jewel in Plymouth's Crown. Will definitely return. Highly recommended
