What a little Gem of a place, perfect for what we wanted, friendly staff, the room was very clean  and parking right outside, food was lovely too, we will definitely be paying this b&b a visit again perfect little getaway for a night or two especially if you attend a concert at dreamland, Thank you to the staff for being very welcoming x

Just spent 3 nights at The Waves. This was our second visit and we will certainly be back. It’s clean and fresh and right by the beach. Very dog friendly. Lovely breakfast- everything freshly cooked. Weather stormy but good waves and kite surfing to watch.

Great B&B well located by the sea in Minnis Bay, Birchington on Sea, Kent. Lovely breakfasts and food, very friendly host and staff.  Good value, very clean and comfortable rooms. Open 7 days a week and great promenade walks.

We must have stayed at The Waves in Birchington (Kent) over 20 or 30 times by now.  It is convenient for our family visits, but most importantly, it is very snug, and the owners and staff are all enthusiastic about helping and making sure you are comfortable.  The rooms, currently under renovation, are very tastefully done, extremely clean and frankly just what you need when you are travelling half way across the world.  Highly recommended. We had a family Christmas lunch for 16 at waves yesterday. This is the 2nd year Steve and Jane have organised this for us. The food was delicious and plenty of it. The table was laid out beautifully. Thanks to the whole team for all your hard work.

We stayed here for an overnight break in May with our granddaughter and we couldn’t have asked for more. The hotel is lovely and clean, the rooms  are so comfy and spotless. 
Location is amazing, so close to the lovely beach across the road. 
What made it more special even was the staff, so friendly and helpful. 
And even down to the fact that three weeks after coming home I realised I may have left a dress in my room and I phoned up to see if it was possibly handed in,  and they found it straight away and they were so happy for me to be sent it and didn’t even talk about any charge for the postage.

The location is excellent, just a few steps from the beach. Our room was clean and comfortable and we were able to park right outside our door. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. I was slightly worried about the dog-friendly aspect, but the resident dogs were perfectly behaved and won me over completely. A very enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Good, clean room. Drinks at sensible prices, breakfast good and a nice location. Staff were very pleasant and friendly.  The car park was a bit small but we managed to get at spot every day. Was well worth the money.

We stayed here 4 nights very nice breakfast was lovely it was nice that breakfast was served 9am to 12 noon staff very friendly and welcoming after we had travelled from scunthorpe 4 hrs 45 mins dog friendly we will return and stay longer from ANDY AND SANDRA ROOM 3

This was our second visit to The Wave B&B and once again we had a very enjoyable stay! 
In a lovely quiet situation, two minutes walk from the beach with private parking. We were in their disabled room which was very spacious with a large wet room en-suite. We had our two Miniature Schnauzers with us so plenty of room for their beds and lovely walks on the doorstep! There was also a small fridge in the room along with tea & coffee facilities and a small table and chairs.
Because of COVID-19 a cooked breakfast was delivered to your room or when the sun was shining we ate on tables set up outside the restaurant. All staff wore masks and were very pleasant and keen to let you know that although things were slightly different due to restrictions they were there to help.
Highly recommend this B&B to others and we will certainly be back again!

Perfect getaway for a night or two

As it was a lovely sunny Sunday in May (19/05/24) I decided a trip to the seaside was called for….

First stop at this establishment for a coffee and a cold drink. Lovely picnic benches on a grassy area to the front looking out towards the sea. Then towards the side/ rear of the place a smaller more enclosed seating area. 

After our thirst was quenched we headed off for a walk along the top path towards Reculver. At the area where the path takes a left bend we headed down to the promenade to walk back. 

We returned to the same cafe and ate inside as twas a bit too hot to eat outside. We were able to bring our dog inside too (on her lead). We both had a ‘low tide’ breakfast with added baked beans, and a cold drink each. Just over £22. Most reasonable. My only concern was that the beans were served in ramekins that had chips in them. 

The cafe was clean and tidy and the staff were very pleasant. 

There are 4 resident dogs and 2 cats, met 3 of the dogs, who were friendly. 

Would definitely go back.

Delicious food.

This is such a great little place. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, a bonus to the beautiful doggy's who were so well behaved and happy to come over for belly rubs and head scratches. We were only staying overnight with my parents in the accessible room and my husband and I in the deluxe double. The rooms were clean and spacious and the showers were really amazing - great water pressure. The only thing that i feel would have been of benefit would be another plug socket - there was an extension cable but it only reached as far as under the bed so charging mobiles was a little challenging. Other than that we were happy with our stay, you cannot get a better location! The breakfast was good quality and plentiful - and my mum loved the ice cream. Would have received 5 stars, but due to the renovations happening (that we were unaware of until arrival) during the night you could smell wet cement (musty dampness) from the work being done. I am sure when the new rooma are complete it will be beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back again. (Not the place if you are not an animal lover, but great for those who are, or have dogs themselves as they are very welcome.)

Waves- Lovely experience with the most friendly staff

We had a family Christmas dinner here last night and it was lovely. The cafe is easily accessible, in a nice seafront location, with lots of parking. We were made to feel so welcome by the hosts, and the service was excellent. The portions were very generous, at a great price too. The gateaux I had for dessert was delicious, I just couldn't finish it because I was too full! They have beautiful dogs who joined us after our dinner; the children in our family fell in love with them and took loads of selfies. They also got to play around on the piano next to the bar for a bit of fun. We had a great time and I would definitely visit again.

Lovely little cafe with a warm welcome

Lovely area right on beach front next to Minnis Bay Resturant but very quiet in room.
Clean and tidy room with all essentials and friendly check in.
Only negative comment is I had to be at work for 0900 and breakfast didn’t start until 0900 so I had to go to work hungry but there are Tea making facilities in the room.

1 night Week day stay for work reasons

A very enjoyable stay.

Booked at the last minute to extend a short break by the Kent coast for one more night, I was very pleasantly surprised by The Waves, particularly by its close proximity to the sandy beach of Minnis Bay.  The place is spotlessly clean, and my room was large, bright and airy.  The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming.  I loved how I could leave my room and be on the beach in about 30 seconds.

I will say that if you don't like dogs, this may not be the place for you!  It's very clearly dog friendly (although I did only find this out myself by reading reviews prior to my stay), with a number of the family's dogs present inside the café, which is where you will eat breakfast (or at least I did now that indoor dining restrictions are being relaxed).  They're all very friendly dogs, one even has its own teddy bear that it occasionally carries around before placing it carefully on the floor to give it a gentle lick...I found that entertaining to watch while I ate my breakfast!  But of course not everyone likes dogs, so this is something to be aware of.

There's only really a choice of two cooked breakfasts with no option for cereals or fruit, but the food was very nice, especially the toast which was made from 'proper bread', not your standard pre-sliced loaf!

I only have a couple of minor niggles.  My room was nicely furnished, but had no wardrobe, just a few hooks hanging from a door.  This didn't bother me too much as I was only staying one night, but some might find that an inconvenience, especially if staying for longer.  Also, the TV in the room couldn't pick up a signal, so was pretty much useless.  This may have been something I could have taken up with the owners at the time, but again, as I was only staying one night I didn't bother and just had an early night instead!

Overall, I found it a nice place to stay and would stay there again.
