Warm, friendly welcome by the owner. As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog.Food was fantastic - both of us had the lamb which was stunning. Lots of it & full of flavour. The accompanying vegetables were equally full of taste. We can confirm that the website comment regarding food: "Our chef Darren cooks & prepares excellent freshly prepared food using local welsh suppliers & products. Darren’s style of cooking is unpretentious, uncomplicated yet well presented & cooked plates with generous portions of homemade food." is absolutely spot on!Equally, breackfast the next morning, though there were only the two of us staying had a full choice of cereals & fruit laid out - all prepared fresh - and again, the "Full Welsh" breakfast set us up for the day's activities.Decent-sized room with equally roomy en-suite completed the accommodation.As there was only the two of us, we stayed in the visitors' lounge rather than going into the Residents' One.
