My partner booked Kate’s lovely Oast House BnB for my birthday weekend. Kate is a fabulous host. The room was massive with a super king size bed. It had a very large en-suite too. Coffee & tea making facilities on tap. The breakfasts were exceptional. The location is ideal to explore rural East Sussex, the coast and Kent. We fully recommend Kate’s BnB, so if you are looking for a place to stay (it’s from the 1800’s) then give Kate’s a go. Thoroughly recommended.

Covid restrictions lifted and my wife I visited during half term. It was great to be able to visit again. Stayed in the end room overlooking the garden and was able to see all the way to the windmill on the hill. It was nice to listen to the birds waking up in the morning and in the evening. Bit of a heat wave but the room was lovely and cool. 
We were apprehensive about Covid but were pleased to find the breakfast area rearranged to keep us apart but still supplying the lovely breakfast. 
So glad we can travel again. See you in October.

This guest house is in a oast house in the village of Icklesham in East Sussex. We stayed for three nights and had a large comfortable bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the owners were very helpful in suggesting places to visit and where to eat. Well situated for exploring the Cinque Ports such as Rye and Hythe. Thoroughly recommended.

A nice oast house in the countryside , very quiet at night. A lovely host able to help with taxi information as we needed to get into Hastings. A lovely breakfast with my coeliac being catered for very well

Oast house in Sussex

Friendly host, nice location 

Where to start?  First the positives.  The beds were very comfortable and the linen fresh and clean.  The breakfast is outstanding and worthy of a good hotel. The negatives.  It is rather rundown and the housekeeping is lacking.  Some dusty and dirty areas in the room and pubic hair in the shower tray which was very off putting.  If you are happy to ignore the negatives then this is a comfortable place to stay with a superb breakfast, enough to keep you going all day not to mention a lovely old pub nearby with excellent food with enormous portions.

An East Sussex stay.

I booked this B&B for a friend’s special birthday. The photos on booking.com looked lovely and it looked a perfect place to stay for walkers.  The photos are old and the place needs some TLC. Please update the photos so people know what to expect. 

The Rose room was not worth £120 per night. It was old fashioned with a broken dressing screen, a blind that needed replacing and not an en-suite bathroom as stated. The room was very dusty and not clean enough especially during Covid times. We tried to book somewhere else as I felt disappointed and upset but Rye and the surrounding area was fully booked. 

Bed was comfy and host was friendly and the full English breakfast looked good but it wasn’t for us. We did inform the host when we left about the room so we felt we were up front.
