Beautiful waterfront location, friendly hosts, very comfortable room with up to date bathroom. There's a comfy lounge with waterfront view for guests, and ample breakfast options. The hosts are friendly and helpful. It's a few miles on backroads outside Portree, so a car is essential.

June is an attentive host but if you’re someone who likes to be left alone, this is somewhere that you can get peace and quiet and just relax into a different pace of life. The room was comfortable and spacious and we were supplied with robes, lovely scented toiletries and tea & coffee options that made us feel at home. Parking is open and accessible at the venue. Really enjoyed June’s homemade compote at breakfast (plenty to choose from for a continental breakfast; rhubarb and berry compote) which was flavoursome and tart, just how it should be! Perfect with yoghurt - loved it.
The location is great, a few minutes stroll down the hill and you’re in the main thoroughfare of Oban, popping out near Nories (definitely go here for fish & chips; fantastic) and literally a few steps from Highland Glass - Gail and Colin are lovely people and webloved talking with them about their artwork and took a couple of thing’s away with us. 

If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll be at McCaig’s Tower (you’re also staying in his house!!) in roughly 10-15 minutes stroll (up the hill) where the views across Oban and beyond are absolutely spectacular. We also really enjoyed listening to the high school pipe band who happened to be playing one evening down by the quayside when we were walking off a delightful meal in the Waterfront Fishouse Restaurant (a must visit). Really looking forward to planning a return visit to Oban and would happily stay again at Heatherfield House.

We stayed just one night on our way to Mull. Friendly welcome, lovely property full of original features, well appointed room which felt cared for with lots of nice touches. We had a very nice breakfast too. Good value for money, would come again.

Great location near city center, the host was very friendly. I had room number 3, the room was more than big enough, the bed was comfortable, and it had an en suite bathroom. The room had all the modern amenities needed, the TV and Wi-Fi had good reception.

Great spot tucked away behind the main streets. Fantastic breakfast and even better coffee - I preferred my coffee here than the cafes. 

If you have time I highly recommend the walk to Gylen Castle on the Isle of Kerrera. A 40 min walk to the ferry, a 3 minute ferry (buy your tix - 4GBP p/p return - at Oban ferry office), then a 4 hour round trip walk to the castle. The Oban tourist information office has a map with ferry times for free. Well worth a days adventure.

We really enjoyed our one night stay, the welcome was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was great and the breakfast very tasty. I can recommend the vegan black pudding very nice.
We will hopefully return again hopefully for more than one night.

We were very well looked after during our two night stay at Heatherfield House by June and Owen. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and our bedroom was very spacious and well equipped. The breakfasts were excellent on both days with a wide range of options. Heatherfield House is within walking distance of Oban town centre for the shops, restaurants and harbour. It is also well located for exploring the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

The owner made my mum and dad's 60 wedding anniversary very special. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the location was beautiful and facilities excellent. 
Even in the rain  they were able to sit at the window and enjoy the view

The guest house is centrally situated, we were able to park early and have a walk round the town before we checked in at 4pm. We had the garden room at the back which was a bit dark but as we spent very little time in the room it was no issue. Large shower which was nice. Breakfast was tasty.

We had a wonderful stay at the Heatherfield House hosted by Owen, Becca, and June.  They were so warm and friendly and helped us find our way around Oban.  The B&B was perfectly situated on a quiet street just above the town center.  Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

A relaxing and peaceful stay where you were minutes away on foot to everything “touristy”

The Heatherfield house, a family run bed-and-breakfast was a lovely place to stay while visiting Oban.. The rooms were large and adequate. The bed was a little hard. They included breakfast in the morning allows you to select what you would like to eat and the owner of the bed-and-breakfast did a lovely job preparing food for all her guests. Checking in and checking out is super easy and I love to give suggestions of what one can do while visiting Oban.

Proper Bed and Breakfast

What a view from the window of our spacious bedroom. Slept like a log in the comfortable double bed, pillows entice you to sleep. Mandy the owner was very pleasant and provided us with a  fabulous breakfast both mornings. Pleasant walks around Campbeltown. Westport beach 10 mins by car, sandy and toilets in car park. Davar Island excessable at low tide and is a pleasant walk over causeway.

Perfect place to stay in Oban!

I don't even know where to start with how wonderful this place is. 
This was my first ever solo travelling trip and I was a bit nervous. I was put at ease before I even arrived with the warm, reassuring email of my arrival time.
The actual arrival was so warm and friendly and the owner was great fun to chat to. The building and gardens are beautiful and so close to town.
 When I got to my room which was the single room with external bathroom it was absolutely spotless and the view of the bay is fantastic.  Love the decor and the attention to every small detail, including decaf tea (nobody ever remembers that), and the dressing gown which was so cosy.
The breakfast in the morning was so fresh and tasty (best sausage I've ever had!) 
Can't thank you enough for making my first solo trip so enjoyable.
Will definitely be back next time I'm in Oban! 

THE place to stay in Oban! 

We had a brilliant time at Heatherfield House. Owen and co are excellent hosts, from providing accurate information about the CalMac ferries, (anything over a force 8 and they cancel, the soft gits) to buying reasonably priced cars in the NW Highlands, they were on it. Fantastic people skills, very, very funny hosts, and superb accommodation. We'll definitely be back!  Btw, they said 'please don't visit without appropriate headgear in midge season '. Sound advice!!!!

Avoid the midges

This was a great find and we are really glad we booked for 3 nights (it could have been longer). It is in an ideal spot for Oban centre, being just up the hill with good parking at the property. We had a wonderful welcome and enjoyed excellent, friendly service from the owners who gave us great advice. Most importantly to all visitors to Oban is make sure you book a few days in advance for meals - we would highly recommend the Coast restaurant 2 minutes from Heatherfield.
We will definitely return for the excellent room, breakfast, location and importantly the friendly owners.

A great place to stay in Oban

Heatherfield House sits an easy 5 minute walk above the town. It is a beautiful and meticulously maintained substantial stone house with ample parking. The guest house is spotlessly clean, very well presented and the welcome is warm, as is the building. Breakfast is of a good quality. Overall, just lovely
