Accommodation was very good regarding room. Facilities were very good and room was very clean and tidy. Meals were good. Cooked  breakfast had several choices of food.  Evening carvery had only turkey available due to demand at lunchtime. Not notified when placing order, Staff friendly.

Stayed for two night while attending a function locally. Easy and free car parking on site. Staff friendly and helpful. Spacious room with an excellent shower. Good meal deal for dinner. And late check-out was nice too.

On the negative side, it would be nice if someone cleared up the cigarette butts by the entrance now and again!!

Stayed in room 21, it overlooks fields, is one of the furthest rooms away from the entrance, but is dead quiet. Walls are a bit paper thin, can hear others around when you're inside your room. The TV is quite a common thing to hear, and the shower.
The bed was too hard for me, and I had asked on arrival for extra duvet and pillows, it is hard for some to manage to get this. The 2nd night I asked again for a thicker duvet to take the hardness out of the bed. I got it. The beds are quite high up off the ground, I'm 5ft 5ins and I had to stand on tip toes to get my butt on the bed. With the extra duvet it was even higher and then I struggled to get off of it. I will point out at this point, i am disabled and I didn't have an Accessible room, because the room had a fantastic walk in shower. Which looked great, worked really well, but sprayed  the water out onto the floor. Just beware of this?
Nice hot shower though, very enjoyable. Toiletries were pretty amazing too.
Breakfast came in a lunch bag, left outside your room late at night, consisted of a  Blueberry Muffin, a Natural Granola bar, a tin of still water and an apple. Ample for one person. Of course you could book breakfast in the adjoining pub and get a full english breakfast that you paid for on top.
Staff were very good and polite and the room was light and clean. The only downside is the WIFI - a lack of it. It wasn't working and they didn't know when it would be fixed.
We had a bedside light not working, but besides that minor irritation, everything else was ok.

I have become quite a regular visitor here over the last six months or so, and have always enjoyed it so I decided to book for our Christmas lunch. As usual, the food was lovely. They had decorated the tables nicely with smart blue tablecloths and sparkly silver crackers. The salmon and melon starters were delicious, as was the main carvery lunch. Followed by Christmas pudding, we were fit to burst!!! Big thanks to all the staff for a great Christmas lunch.

We really enjoyed our four night stay which we booked via booking.com at a reasonable rate. The room was clean & spacious with comfy beds and linen. The bathroom had a great shower and all usual amenities. We ate in the restaurant every night which provided a good selection of dishes at a reasonable price. Continental breakfast was included in the room rate which was by all accounts was adequate as you could pay extra if you wanted a full English breakfast option. If you are passing by or in the area the hotel is definitely worth considering for a stay......

We found the accommodation clean, spacious and welcoming.  Staff were all friendly and helpful.  We struggled  bit with the menu, very pubby food and limited healthy options,  though the calorie listing helped. The carvery looked OK on the night we ate, but it was hot and we were looking for something lighter. The buffet breakfast was good and OK value wise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room comfortable and clean. Bathroom excellent... loved the shower! Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Surroundings beautiful. I used to cycle through this area as a kid... it's changed! LOL!

Thoroughly recommended.

This  place is a basic, comfortable hotel. There’s no frills but the place is clean and has everything you need. A real plus for us is that the bus stop for Bombay Sapphire distillery is literally outside and meant we could get to the fairly out of the way location without any problems. Lastly, I have to congratulate the staff on their welcoming and enthusiastic attitude. Everyone was so happy and chatty and did everything they could to accommodate our needs. All in all, a good choice for a base to see things around the area.

Stayed for 3 nights with family in two separate rooms and had an enjoyable stay. Rooms were big enough, well equipped and everything was clean. Both my kids loved the breakfast bags, and always asked if the breakfast fairy had been in the mornings! 

Only tiny, tiny odd point is that neither of the toilets had a lid, which is an odd choice. Other than that I loved it and would come back again. 

We really enjoyed our stay at this Innkeeper's Lodge.  The surroundings are beautiful and the village is very picturesque.  Some complain because it is far away from the main road and from Basingstoke, but it was a bonus for us and was very quiet and relaxing.  The room was large, clean and very comfortable and I slept well.   When we arrived, it was a little confusing because the entrance is locked and you have to enter through the pub to register, but we quickly sorted that out.   The breakfast included in the rate is a continental breakfast and was adequate, or for a little extra they will do a hot breakfast.  All in all a good stay at a reasonable rate.

Get what you pay for, bed too hard for us.  Room needed TLC.  Staff appeared to be shortage. Food wasn't anything to write home about.  If you enjoy coffee you won't like it here, very weak.  On positive note, once in room you don't hear anything happen from the pub part.  It looked like people visit for the carvery and breakfast but food was only average, it wouldn't be somewhere I would regularly visit.  I should have probably read the previous reviews before going.  I wouldn't go back

Get what you pay for

Our reception was good, however the corridors down to the room smelled musty which was not a good first impression. Room 21 was clean and tidy, great shower. Downside mattress was too firm for our liking and a bed side light didn't work. Breakfast was OK for the price. In general the hotel side of the business needs a bit of TLC to get a better rating.

OK but not brilliant.

I have rated this as average rather than poor because of the cheerful welcome when we arrived and the fact that the bathroom shower was good. However, the smell of damp carpet in the vastly overheated corridors and the hint of stale cigarette smoke in our room was not pleasant. The room was very dark because there wasn’t a central ceiling light and the wash basin was cracked as well. We didn’t eat breakfast in the restaurant so can’t comment on the food.
