This is the second time we stayed for 8 days, Breakfast ,The rooms are so nice fruit chocolates and very good breakfast Charles and his wife were great hosts.We wish that we could have stayed longer there is so much do  in the area. There is private parking.

We have just had a 2 night stay at Porch House. The owners are perfect hosts, the breakfast is tasty and piping hot. The room we had was cozy and clean with a well stocked tea tray we also had cake which was delicious and fruit and chocolates. I definitely would reccomend Porch House. Also excellent location with free parking .

We had the best stay at this wonderful gem in Northallerton , Charles and Christine were fantastic hosts and made us feel so special , you are both a credit to the hospitality industry , your breakfast was to die for. A wonderful place to stay with private parking, immaculate rooms and an amazing breakfast.

The owners made me feel especially welcome, came to my car and helped me with my bags. They even took me directly to my room and made sure I knew where everything was located.

I can’t credit them enough to be honest!

Cannot fault it in any way, lovely room and lounge, so clean and comfy, beautiful garden, breakfast excellent,  the nicest hosts you could wish for, who will do anything to improve your stay , without asking, 10 mins walk to the train station where you can go direct to Durham, York, Edinburgh,  King's Cross. Whever you want to go, it's at your fingertips. I will definitely be back,  even if its just to spend a day in another city and then come back to listen to the birds in the garden and watch the sun go down

Stayed in early September when attending a wedding about 6 miles away.

Tight for time, so Charles (the host) allowed my partner and I access to the room in order to get changed and drop our stuff off. Not only that but Charles then drove us to the venue.

Porch House is a beautiful hotel with a lot of history. It is on the main high street in Northallerton, I briefly popped out to buy a belt but I would say that Northallerton is not short of decent bars and places to eat.

The room was large, spotlessly clean and with a four poster bed  -  very unique.  The bed was massive!

Charles on the journey to the venue told us about his past and that he had owned a restaurant in Massam. So the breakfast in the morning was absolutely first rate. Christine (Charle's wife) is super friendly.

There is parking to the rear of the property and a very well kept walled garden.

This place is expertly run by the owners Charles & Christine and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Porch House is an amazing B&B and is very highly recommended. The standards and attention to detail given by the owners is exemplary. Yes it is an old building with furniture and decor to match and it works perfectly. The tea/coffee and homemade cake on arrival were a welcome surprise (and the cake delicious), the room was immaculately clean, the breakfast made with the freshest products, the additional treats in the room were a real surprise and much appreciated. It's located in a great place with free on-site parking and is ideal for walking into town for the shops and pubs or restaurants. The owners Charles and Christine are extremely polite and helpful, and go out of their way to ensure guests are happy with their stay at Porch House - thank you both and we would definitely stay again when in the area.

Good central location with gated car parking. Very welcoming hosts and comfortable accommodation with refreshments offered upon arrival.  There was an excellent choice of breakfast dishes, well served. 

Received a very warm welcome from Charles and Christine the owners. The Porch is a beautiful historic building located in the centre of Northallerton. Beautifully furnished with a lot of extra touches which made this a lovely experience. Everything that was offered for breakfast was fresh and good quality with plenty of choice. Would certainly return.

A Quality B&B

We were touring, with Porch house being our first stop off and what a lovely start to our holiday it was. Charles and Christine made us feel so welcome with tea and home made cakes in the lounge when we arrived. We had a lovely room which looked out onto the rear garden, it was nice and quiet with a very comfortable bed, well stocked tea and coffee and a nice touch of fresh chocolates each day. The breakfast each morning was fantastic with a really  good selection. The house itself has an amazing history. Our hosts were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you so much Charles and Christine.

A lovely house with great Hosts

I stayed at this fantastic establishment mid May whilst on business.  Room 2 was lovely; super view across the well manicured gardens and nice and quiet.  Exceptionally clean and every amenity well thought through.  Lovely hosts and outstanding breakfast.  Excellent parking around the back too.  Very close to Northallerton town.

Location, comfort, cleanliness, attention to detail in this fabulous old building. The hosts are welcoming & happy to share the history of the house & show you around the other rooms if possible. They all have a unique individual charm.  
Beautiful lounge, with tea/coffee/cake offered upon arrival. 
We stayed in the King Charles room at the front of the property. Lovely touches like home-made biscuits, fruit, chocolates & fresh milk in the fridge. 
Be warned, the bed sits high off the floor, but it is large & comfortable. 
A fairly small room, & as we are finding in many of our b&b stays there is little room for large suitcases.
The bathroom is spacious & well-appointed with a fabulous shower.
Breakfast was simply devine with lots of choices.
Private on-site, off road parking too.
So glad we chose this place.
