OYO The Leven

The Leven is superbly situated in a lovely Yorkshire market town. The river Leven runs close behind the hotel with beautiful walks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and cheerful.

Great location in a lovely old building.Downstairs and room nicely decorated but stairs and corridors need some attention.Overall, great value stay in a lovely location

2nd visit here, the lady at check in recognised me from previous stay. There's an Indian restaurant attached to this hotel and the food is dynamite!! Room clean, decor lovely

One Night stay - all the staff very helpful and friendly. Good nights sleep and comfortable room.

I booked this hotel for my daughter and her boyfriend to stay the weekend and they thought it was a lovely place to stay. Room was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was in a excellent position with plenty of parking. Lots shops and pubs nearby. The  room was clean and comfortable with a TV and tea and water provided. For the price it was good value. However the wash basin had cracks and a massive chip on the side. Never seen anything like it in all my stays in hotels I've been. Really unacceptable but because it was one night I let it go.

One Night Stay at OYO The Leven

Great accommodation, friendly staff, Martin and Becky always glad to help. But also this time I wanted to mention the restaraunt does incredibly fantastic freshly cooked spicy food. Shaqil, the head chef is amazingly talented and the  menu is the most authentic I have had on Teeside, especially the vegetarian menu. All freshly cooked - a unique experience !!

Massive thankyou to the owners & Staff for the hard work they put in towards the Wedding. Great people with a massive work rate. Not a bad word to stay. 

There is still work in the pipeline as explained by the owners, But you can see their vision already with what they have completed. Also a very lovely location with River to the rear.

Danny & Lauren visited for 2 nights for a Wedding

For the price was not expecting much but on arrival impressed... the bar and restaurant looked really nice.... On check in  the owner apologised for the hallways that hadn't been refurbished yet.. No need to been in worst... The room was really nice and  our bathroom was bigger than our living room at home 😁😁😊.... The owner was an absolute work horse she virtually did it all in the hotel and restaurant but she also has a good team behind her.... but still had time for guests.. Even her best mate who was glued to the bar🤣🤣🤣🤣 joined in for banter to make it a really good night... Would deffo recommend this hotel... Only downside was I booked through oyo not good had problems but becky sorted it

Hidden gem

Just stayed at the weekend in Room 1.....it was  absolutely FABULOUS ❤....recently all refurbished .....it was luxurious ❤loved its new decor of white,gold & black....the room is super spacious with a fantastic super king size high bed.....great night's sleep!..... it has high ceilings,sash windows,lush curtains & perfect choice of lighting!....with plenty of wardrobe space, big mirrors & a lovely seat at the end of the bed plus tea & coffee to enjoy!
The new big bathroom has a bath & shower plus big fluffy white towels to complement & a well lit mirror!
The room has great views & perfect location on the high street, plus free parking right outside!
We have stayed in the hotel about 6 times now & love it❤there's always something new every time we come.
The owners & all the staff are super friendly & welcoming & have worked so hard in building a great hotel business.
With its own bar,Indian restaurant & superb beer garden down to the river,it really is a great treat to escape to❤

❤FABULOUS stay in Room number 1❤

Friendly staff, lovely and spacious room which was perfectly clean. Stunning bathroom with a great shower and thick good quality towels.

Amazing (and very handy) idea offering guests a free breakfast. The only downside was that the TV worked but was constantly on mute - the staff did offer to come up to try and fix it however we were about ready to go out by this point so we turned it down.

All in all a fantastic experience at a very affordable price, will certainly be returning.

Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere

The LEVEN belongs to the Martin and his partner who have some arrangement with the Indian based hospitality company, OYO: On Your Own. The owners are helpful and delightful. OYO however provided nothing useful but kept sending an endless cascade of  Emails, several a repeat. Although we booked and paid via Booking.com, OYO demanded my card as a precaution against damage. What a cheeky and invalid demand. I had no contract with OYO so they had no right to have the card. I ignored it. H
Our room excellent, very newly refurbished. The bathroom was fitted to a good standard, decent shower,quality toiletries, and we slept really comfortably. And we had nice large towels. The TV was a vert generous size.
We usually have the simple breakfast on offer here but it was let down by the apple juice which was fizzy so almost certainly it was fermenting and unfit for use. 
At the moment the stairs and landing are tatty but renovations are ongoing so not a criticism. 
As we had been advised, breakfast was self serve and there's no-one around, unless you ring for the owners.
Yes, we’d go back because of the owners, the value and the quality of the room.

Good Value

I booked The Leven on a recommendation from a Friend as I had not stayed there before, and I needed somewhere in Stokesley.  Although, the Hotel is being refurbished, the room was clean, with a nice shower. We had a few beers in the Bar where the staff were very friendly and sadly, we did not eat in the Restuarant because we were going elsewhere, but the Food looked and smelt great.

A night in Stokesley for a Party

This hotel has the best receptionist I've every come across in the UK, Europe and US.  Couldn't do enough for us and was a great help.  Room was good, beds excellent, bathroom was super but could have done with a chair to sit on rather than the dressing table stool.  All in all excellent value.  The major problem we had was ours in that we didn't ask about access.  My disabled son can't use his left hand and the access to the second floor only has a stair rail on one side (first floor is not a problem) so he had to shuffle up on his bottom.  If you have a disabled or aged person please be aware there is no lift.  Our fault we didn't ask - we just assumed there was one.  We would go back but only to the first floor.
