A great B and B right in the centre of Lynton.
Very well run with friendly hosts, clean well-decorated rooms and superb breakfast. The house is very quiet and relaxing. There is limited parking at the property but plenty nearby in Lynton.

We stayed for one night at Southcliffe and we will definitely be back. Great location in Lynton with access to all sorts of shops, restaurants and local picturesque places. Super comfortable bed, lovely room with en suite shower (we had the balcony room), brilliant hosts and fantastic breakfast options. Big shout out to Bryan, James and Stuart for creating a really restful and beautiful b&b ❤️

This is the second time I have stayed at Southcliffe and it is one of the best B&B's I have stayed in. The decor is stunning, facilities are great, breakfast is delicious and the owners James and Stuart are lovely! I will definitely be staying again!

Warm and comfortable room, well stocked with tea/coffee and bathroom products. Soft sheets. Lovely and quiet. Stuart is a friendly helpful host and James cooks super breakfasts. Easy walking distance to everything in town. A perfect place to stay.

Had a brilliant long weekend stay at Southcliffe.

Our room was perfectly furnished and decorated, and the B&B overall has a great vibe to it.

One of the best points of staying in a B&B is the breakfast and Southcliffe didn't disappoint - had standard options with a slighty twist!

Around the B&B, you have walking distance access to the main street of Lynton, including many local restaurants/cafes, a couple of convenience stores, and the beautiful Valley of Rocks. Download the All Trails app if you're unfamiliar with the area to find local walking routes.

You can also walk down into Lynmouth down a steep pathway - or alternatively take the cable car. This takes you directly to the seafront where you'll find several more restaurants, pubs and shops.

Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a weekend away to relax and enjoy nature.

The room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast perfect. Host very accommodating and helpful. Perfect location, within walking distance of brilliant restaurants, cliff railway and valley if rocks. 

A really lovely B&B in Lynton. Beautifully decorated. We had a lovely bedroom with a balcony and very comfortable  bed.
Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. We  will definitely be back for another visit. 

The bed was the most comfortable luxurious bed,the fluffiest pillows. Everything about my room was luxury the decorating was totally my style 
Bathroom was modern n clean and the complementary shampoo and condition which luckily was there as forgot mine was a luscious lather hair felt lovely after.
The teas coffee and delicious hot chocolate was always kept topped up.

We have stayed at the Southcliffe twice, both times have been enjoyable. From first arriving you’re welcomed by the friendly faces of James & Stuart. 
We stayed in room 5, it’s a good spacious room with all the essentials. A lovely hot shower every time especially when you’re wet from the weather! 

We found asking for things not too much trouble from our hosts. 
Breakfast everyday was super, with a range of choices and lots of local produce.
Lovely setting which feels just like home. 

It’s in a good central location for restaurants and shops in Lynton. With a selection of walks right on your doorstep to The Valley of the Rocks or down into Lynmouth towards Watersmeet. 

Please keep doing what you’re doing as we love our visits to you at the Southcliffe.

Luxurious yet modern

Home from Home

We have stayed at the Southcliffe  B & B many times although this was the first time under the new ownership. The same high standards exist with above average breakfasts being served. Only one small observation is that since our last visit, the shower in room 7 has been upgraded which is good of course, although there is no suitable place to put shower gel, shampoo etc. The plastic basket provided is much too high and far too deep to be of any practical use. I'm sure a more useful solution can be found. As I said, this is a very small point and I would highly recommend staying at the Southcliffe when visiting the lovely little village of Lynton.

We've passed through Lynton a number of times but never stopped to look around so we decided to spend a long weekend there. As we were travelling by motorbike we wanted somewhere to stay that had easy walking access to pubs and restaurants and secure parking for the motorbike. After reading reviews we chose Southcliff B&B and were very please with our choice.

We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our very comfortable room. The room was lovely and warm, had a large comfortable bed with lovely pillows and had tea and coffee making facilities with lovely biscuits. The breakfast choice was extensive and beautifully cooked and presented and James and Stuart made sure everything was exactly as we liked.

A great stay at a great B&B, I highly recommend Southcliffe B&B.

A super long weekend away

Discovered this lovely house and was drawn in by the great website,pictures and reviews online....
Everything exceeded expectations from the spotless and roomy turret room with its comfy bed and great views of the hills,to delicious breakfasts on each morning ....never had such tender bacon !!....and easy walks to the village and nearby Lynmouth 
Our host was very helpful,accommodating and friendly and the attention to detail in the decor and delicious scent throughout the house and linens made for a homely stay

Gem of a b and b in Lynton

Loved this place. Everything was spotlessly clean with our room serviced every day. We had the advantage of a balcony which was lovely when popping back in the afternoon for a cuppa. We received a warm welcome and Stuart or James were around most of the time to answer questions or just have a chat. Breakfast was delicious. On the first day I opted for avocado, chorizo and poached egg on a bed of sour dough toast-the poached egg was cooked to perfection which isn’t a given in most places. If I wanted to be very picky I’d say they probably need to invest in a better class of tea bag for breakfast - we Brummies are very fond of our tea and it needs to be just right. Overall though a thoroughly enjoyable stay - would definitely go there again.

What a fabulous B&B, warm, friendly, clean and just fab, we had a balcony room (1) which had superb views of the hills and awesome countryside, great to sit out with a coffee even when rain threatened, really comfortable bed, good shower and other facilities and of course a great choice of different breakfast goodies🙂, full English was superb and you could tell the items were fresh and locally sourced,

Couldn’t fault it !

Just home from a two night stay at Lynton, so pleased we found Southcliffe it is a lovely B&B. The room we stayed in was beautifully designed, spotless and with a very comfy bed. The breakfast choice was good and excellent quality.  The hosts were both friendly and efficient, we would not hesitate to stay again.
