We visited for a mid week dinner after hearing good things about the food at the King William IV. The menu is a mixture of both Thai and English pub food. It is surprisingly comprehensive for a pub menu. I really really liked the fact that if a dish contained MSG, it was clearly labelled. My eleven year old son, rather predictably chose chicken nuggets and chips, which were excellent - great sized portions and freshly made. My wife and I were both pleased he couldn't finish his meal so we could try them! The chicken satay starter was great - best satay I have tried outside of Asia. I tried the calamari, which was very good. I had the green curry, which I really enjoyed while my wife had Number 23 from the menu - a sweet and sour chicken stir fry which was fab. Overall, great food which was reasonable priced. The pub is also a hostel so the atmosphere is that of a backpacking hostel. It wasn't the cleanest, but the service was friendly. We will definitely be returning soon.
