Ibis Budget London Whitechapel

The hotel was budget however clean and safe. We booked 2 rooms - buy one get one 1/2 price - as we were a party of 3 adults and 2 children. (This is not the fault of the hotel, however the direct Accor website was a bit unclear when booking with how many rooms to select in this deal and so took me a while to work out the offer). The deal was to pay at the hotel which was fine, however the rooms were not together or on the same floor. Staff were pleasant. We could pay for b/fast which was reasonable and a good continental spread. Pancake machine on some days. Juices diluted but typical of hotel standard. No bar. Luggage room for left luggage (cost us £6 for 6 small bags for 25 mins) since you only pay after check out. Two tube stations close by - less than 10 minute walk - East Aldgate & Whitechapel. Less then 15 min walk to Shoreditch passing Brick Lane. Neighbourhood is interesting and nearby shops and restaurants are interesting. Most staying were European with a lot of Spanish or French and very few Brits. A few tourists from US. With easy public transport we visited Harry Potter Warner Brothers, Regents Park, Duant Book Store, Westfield & Olympic Park, West End Show (Back to the Future) South Bank attractions, Greenwich and Tower of London.
