Lovely clean room! The room was ready before the time stated which was great. It was a little bit noisy as it's joint in with the chip shop but that doesn’t go on till late. Amazing how they offer breakfast delivered to your rooms which was incredible.We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back if we are in the area.Thank you!

Best room in the town overlooking the river!

The cleaner was the most lovely man who couldn’t have done more to make our stay comfortable. In the heart of town it was perfect to walk to dinner etc. the stairs were difficult to navigate with large suitcases. The picking up of the keys was confusing as the instructions said it was offsite but it was onsite and we walked the town looking for Hartley House and it turned out to be a very old name for the property we stayed in. We paid £35 for two nights parking which did add to the cost of the weekend.

Excellent place to stay to explore the Cotswolds. The property was in a great location, and once sorted out parking no issues or heavy costs

Beautiful room. Amazing breakfast delivered to the room so it all felt very romantic. The view was wonderful out of the beautiful bay window. The room was Clean but compact so next time I come back I would book the larger room.

We loved our stay at the bank house. A lovely room, in a lovely location and a great breakfast in bed.

Booked very last min, arrived an hour later, friendly host on the phone helped us get in as was late. Yes it’s above a chip shop but no smell or anything. Really lovely / clean comfortable room. Ample tea and coffee - very welcome!!! Beautiful view of the river with chairs to sit on in front of the window just to watch the world go by and my friend was in heaven with the free standing bath in a lovely bathroom . Definately recommend . 👍

The location was perfect for morning strolls. The square around the hotel gets very busy during the day, but night and morning slowed down quite a bit. Very nice to get up and wander in the morning without the crowds.

The Hotel was in an excellent location and check in was really easy. The room was extremely small and needed decorating. The heating was on all night and the heat was unbearable. Don’t want to sound too negative as it was a lovely stay. The room just needed updating. A nice little touch were the extra pastries given to us at breakfast as a congratulations for getting engaged so thank you to the owners for that.

We loved this little inn. The family suite was perfect for 4 people, we had a beautiful view of the lovely town. Breakfast of our choice delivered daily was wonderful. They even accommodated gluten free for one of our children. Angelheart helped us with a cot one evening for an extra guest and he was so kind. We would stay here again if we ever visit the Cotswolds in the future.

Highly Recommend!

As other reviews say this hotel is ideally located in the centre of the village with most rooms, including ours, overlooking the river. Ours (Sterling) was spacious and well appointed with a large bathroom & a large comfortable bed. What other reviews might not tell you is;* There is a chip shop on the ground floor * all breakfasts are delivered to your room at half hour slots of your choice.* There are no staff at the hotel (keys access from key safes) * Bourton can get extremely busy ,especially on sunny weekends ,and you almost certainly wont be able to park close to the hotel However none of this is really a problem (though we had to ring the contact as our key safe number hadn't been emailed to us). The chip shop doesn't stay open late & doesn't smell. The breakfasts were always delivered on time & were delicious. There's a pay car park just on the edge of the village about 10 minutes walk away. The crowds go home in the evening!

Great Stay & Things You Might Not Know

Prior to writing this review I have given the hotel 3 opportunities to respond to me privately. The location, the view, the room, the breakfast can’t be faulted. All outstanding. However the mattress in the Euro suite is broken. When laying on it you sink right to the base. Very unpleasant night. Ruined what would otherwise have been a perfect stay.

The hotel is lovely, the Euro room is spacious and really nicely appointed with everything you could want for an overnight stay. The bed is super comfortable with lovely linen, good quality tea & coffee is provided, dressing gowns and a mini fridge. The bathroom is amazing, roll top bath, huge shower and double sinks. The view is great over the village and lovely to sit and enjoy your super breakfast in the morning.

Great boutique hotel

When we checked in our room had not been serviced. This was quickly resolved by the owner, we were seated in the fish and chip shop downstairs and well looked after with complimentary drink and food. The room was ready in an hour and very clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed and soft pillows. Downside is no parking onsite. Tea bags should be labelled as had no idea which was herbal and which was normal.

Great location

Great location, some downsides...Positives:The location of the Old Bank Rooms cannot be beat. It is right in the center of the village with a lovely view of the water. We stayed in the Euro Suite which was delightful. The breakfast was delivered on time and very tasty.Negatives:The fact that you have to find a parking space off site and carry your luggage up two flights of stairs was a bit challenging because this was one night in a longer trip so we had heavy bags. We knew that in advance and chose to leave most of our luggage in the car but that is definitely  an inconvenience. I agree with many of the previous comments that there should be a table in each room at which you can eat breakfast. It is not comfortable to balance your food on a bedside table or tiny side table..I have twice e-mailed the property manager and never received a response. I called him with an issue on the day of our stay and only got an answer after several tries. I think if there is no staff on site then the response time for emails needs to be fast and reliable. Fortunately it was not a critical issue but if it had been we would have been sunk. For that reason alone I would hesitate to recommend this property to others even though we enjoyed our stay.
