The Marquis of Granby

Arrived from 100 miles further north and I had barely got through the door and was immediately greeted with a lovely warm welcome while one of the customers invited me to join them nearer the warm fire. Brilliant !! Tina showed me the menu and the selection was vast - vegetarians and vegans as well as hungry horses like me are all well catered for regarding choices. The food arrived and the plate was massive, everything was fresh and it was absolutely delicious. Tina "insisted" that I should look at the dessert menu and I caved in ... again, lots to choose from and I went for a chocolate sundae. The chocolate flake was huge and, as a chocoholic, I was well pleased. Nicki (the chef) came to join us all for a chat and a delightful evening was had. I seriously do not know where the hours went ! When you find somewhere that has good food, wonderful hosts and NOT in a rush to move you on then you know for definite that you have found the perfect pub. This is such a place. Hoping to return at the earliest opportunity, I need to work my way through that incredible menu :)
