My wife and I had a great weekend staying at Larry's lodge, just a short walk from keswick town centre. We were made to feel very welcome by sue and dave and their dog Laurence! Our room was clean and cosy and you couldn't ask for more from the locally sourced breakfast  will definitely be booking again

We have been staying at Larry’s Lodge for a number of years, and have always had a great time in Keswick. A major factor in that has been the hospitality provide by Sue and Dave, which has always been first class.
Our rooms have always been spotlessly clean, and Sue’s cushions and tapestries, along with Dave’s brilliant artwork, are an added bonus.
Breakfast is freshly cooked with locally sourced ingredients, and there is a choice of fresh fruits, yoghurts and homemade toast and marmalade to accompany the cooked breakfast.
Thanks again for another great couple of days.

We have just returned from two nights at Larry’s Lodge, the three of us had a wonderful time. June (our lab) was made to feel very welcome, the room was lovely, very clean, well presented and big enough for the three of us. The biggest mention has to be for Daves fantastic homemade bread and Sue’s homemade marmalade, both were delicious, so much so we came home with some extra! Thanks Sue, Dave and Laurence, we will definitely be back. 

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Larry’s Lodge for couple of nights. With so many BnB’s to choose from, and so close together, I’m glad I happened upon this one, ran by husband & wife team, Sue & Dave. A very warm welcome from Sue who gave me a whistle stop tour, shortly followed by an equally welcoming Dave. And ofcourse, the real star of the show, Lawrence the golden Labrador. A sound night’s sleep was followed by a great selection of breakfasts (I highly recommend their home made bread!). On the whole, a lovely experience provided by lovely, genuine people (and dog!). Happy to have spent my birthday walking up Ullock Pike and then back to their place!

We have just stayed at this wonderful B&B (10th & 11th). Wish we had found it a long time ago. 
Its also in a brilliant & convenient location. 

There was a very pleasant welcome from Sue & Dave the owners....such a lovely couple....also not forgetting Laurence the dog(so cute). They do a fantastic job running this Guest House....they have so much pride. 

Our room was absolutely spotless & well maintained. Tea, coffee etc provided. Flat screen tv & hairdryer in the room to use. We even had WiFi. 

Morning breakfast was delicious....a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, local honey, fruit juice. We asked for a full English breakfast which was cooked perfectly....need to mention the gluten free Cumberland sausage...so tasty...which are bought from the local butchers in the town. Then there was Sue’s homemade bread & marmalade....this was absolutely delicious too. Sue & Dave even made time to spend talking to us & the other guests once breakfast was served. They would speak any time of day when they saw you. 

We will definitely be returning to this wonderful B&B in the near future. They really deserve custom. Highly recommended. 


Just what you'd want from a Cumbrian B'n'B - cosy clean rooms, friendly hosts, great location and the right price - plus a sensational breakkie! All the details were just right and everything done with the minimum fuss, lovely. Within 10 mins of both Skiddaw and Helvellyn (not to mention many others), so fabulous for hitting the high fells. Sue, Dave and their beautiful dogs were all most welcoming and I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else next time I visit the Lake District.

Warm welcome by Dave and Sue, what a lovely couple! They are SO in the right job! 

Rooms spotlessly clean with tea and coffee facilities, lovely fluffy towels and nice view. Breakfast was absolutely lovely, selection of fresh fruit, yogurts and cereals, breakfast cooked to order and the home made bread was the cherry on top! 

Our friends took their husky who was made just as welcome and was lovely having Sue and Daves lovely old Labrador Theo to say hello to on a morning too. 

Brilliant location with lovely walks. We are planning to return to Keswick and will definitely be trying to book Larryys lodge again!

Managed to secure a booking the evening before as everywhere was fully booked.

On street parking ; arrived late afternoon and although the streets were busy we did manage to park. Didn’t touch the car then until leaving for home.
Very close proximity to all local amenities ; town, restaurants, pubs, Fitz park. 
Lovely welcome by Dave who showed us to our rooms helping with the luggage. The room was immaculately clean. Tea coffee facilities. Fluffy soft towels. Comfortable bed although the bed ends were a ‘shin’ and knee hazard to us. We learned to uncover them of the duvet so we could see them. 
Selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals followed by a hearty breakfast. Have to give a special mention to Sues home-baked bread! Delicious ! Breakfast served at 830am prompt. Would personally have preferred a little later but this didn’t alter our enjoyment of it.
Pet friendly and if you’re lucky the adorable retired guide dogs will bob along to say hello. Would definitely recommend and return for another stay. Thanks 

Had a great mini break here and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Immaculately clean throughout, wonderful hosts and superb breakfasts with locally sourced produce. Would be my first choice for my next trip to lovely Keswick.

Highly recommend

The effort taken to create a colourful front garden, which has won awards in previous years, is a good indicator of the care taken by Sue and Dave to make this a faultless B&B. Our room and shower were spotlessly clean and the beds most comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Dogs are welcome but owners are expected to respect other guests, for example by keeping their pets away from the dining area and not leaving them alone in the bedroom.

Lovely 

Great to find such a convenient single room. Very friendly and home baked bread with a good cooked breakfast.  Parking is a bit tricky.  I don't have a dog but this would be very dog friendly.  Will certainly return when walking.
