The Square House

Without a doubt this was the best accommodation we’ve ever had in this part of Somerset. We (2 couples from overseas) spent 11 days in The Square House Barn (self catering) and then finished up with 3 nights of B&B in the main house. Everything proved to be of a very high standard, with quality furnishings and fittings throughout. Superb breakfasts (masses of fresh fruit and grains as well as hot food choices). The owner, Kathy (and dog Archie), could not have been more welcoming and at the same time completely non-intrusive. When we were in The Barn, it was like having a friendly and helpful neighbour next door! It only takes 5 minutes to walk to the heart of the village, with pub, shops, post office, etc. Very quiet and peaceful location, and a garden to sit out in and enjoy. Internet connection was good. We would most definitely stay there again, but Kathy will be retiring before our next visit. Meanwhile, whilst it’s still available, we would thoroughly recommend the Square House to anyone wanting first class B&B or a self-catering stay in the very well-appointed barn.
