A perfect stop along Hadrian's Wall, not far from Hexham!  Extremely welcoming hosts, and immaculately clean room, with comfortable beds. We had a very nice diner and breakfast. The staff is welcoming and very helpful. I definitively recommend this place.

A great typical village pub with excellent host, friendly locals, great food and clean comfortable rooms. What else could you ask for ?..
There is no private parking but there is a wide footpath outside the inn which you can park off the road somewhat.

Extremely welcoming, spotlessly clean & excellent food. On a quiet road. Bed was comfy. A couple of miles to Hexham (15mins by bike avoiding the big A road). Secure storage for bikes. Great cooked breakfast freshly prepared. Only ate once in the evening but that was also very good. Booked directly by phone.

We stayed here for two nights with our dog whilst visiting family and really enjoyed it. The room was spotless and really comfortable with everything we needed. Our hosts were really welcoming and the food was delicious. A lovely garden at the back and lots of outside sitting areas. Couldn't fault it.

Small quiet pub in the village of Acomb, Northumberland, very friendly staff, comfortable seating, excellent service and genuinely the finest fish and chips dinner we have had in years. Decent price too. First class all round, thank you all.

What a great find, Acomb is slightly off the main Hadrians wall path, but a lovely little village. The Sun inn is owned by a really friendly Italian couple. The Inn is on the Main Street and very dog friendly, people friendly too, hosts & regulars alike. 
I ate here both nights, with my black lab. 
I had pasta dishes both nights. Portions very generous and sauce both nights really tasty, but the pasta is the true star 🌟 Freshly made by the owner himself, would definitely recommend this place anytime you are in the area.

Recommended by Sunnyside house camping. Very relaxed, very clean and friendly. I asked for the rugby league to be shown and they couldn't have been more helpful. So I watched my team, had an amazing meal, and felt so relaxed in the place. Parked right outside. Thank you, and a pub I will now go to on a regular basis

Just had a fabulous Sunday lunch. Really good quality home cooked food. Tender meat and lots of different vegetables all cooked to perfection. Able to park outside no problem and a good selection of real ales. Nice village pub. Will definitely return

Lovely inn, welcome and friendly staff who can’t do enough to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Lovely food and fantastic prices. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a nice little place to stay the night in a picturesque village. 

Called in for the fish and chips special and was not disappointed, portions were generous and the quality of the food was excellent. Service was good and the place had a nice atmosphere.
Looking forward to coming back and trying the Sunday lunch

Great little find

Fantastic authentic Italian 🇮🇹 pasta dishes ‘on the Wall’ region.

Fantastic pub with great staff and food.

We decided to pop in for a drink after walk to St John Lee church when staying locally. Having our small puppy with us we were so pleased to be able to take him into the pub. The landlady was so welcoming. The pub is very comfy and clean. We wished we could have stayed for a meal and on returning to where staying heard several compliments on the food they serve. We would definitely return if in area in the future.

We stayed here for two nights. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Our double en-suite room was above the bar which a bit noisy but not too bad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Feels like a real locals pub. We didn’t eat there in the evening. We had to park on the road but it wasn’t a busy road at all.

Nice little stay.

Very friendly staff and lovely pub atmosphere.  We stayed one night and the room was very comfortable and clean.  We had to share the bathroom, which while not ideal, wasn’t a problem for one night.  We had a nice hot breakfast next morning and the room was surprisingly quiet considering the Inn’s location right on the road.  The mattress was a little bit too hard for us and the pillows were not the most comfortable, but that is a personal preference.  Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable stay

Walking around acomb and it started chucking it down popped in to this little cosy pub friendly staff. Lunchtime menu a little bit limited but the ham and cheese toastie, chips and salad were lovely a good size portion and value for money. Plenty of free parking along the street.
