Residence Inn by Marriott Edinburgh

Stayed 5nights on the last week of August. Conveniently located near city center which is less than 10minutes walking to Royal Mile and 25minutes to Holyrood. John at the front desk greeted me and my daughter with friendly smile at the check in and helped keeping our luggages for our early arrival. We were promptly alerted through bonvoy app once the room was ready. Few things I’ve founded were helpful to know. 1) We had a large studio with 2 double. And it was large. I’d say 4 people could comfortably stay utilizing sofa bed. 2) kitchenette equipped all the essential you need for eating take out meals or morning coffee. Sainsbury around the corner as well as Asian market. 3) Housekeeping was available daily 4) Staffs were generally friendly. 5) all 5 nights we had no noise interruption from outside streets. We only heard few noises from upstair guest room but that is always the drawback from staying at hotels 6) laundromat was a game changer for our lengthy journey in the UK. Glad to have clean clothes packed to our next city. 7) breakfast came with hot meal including scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, and bacons. Others were bread varieties, yogurts, fruits, cheese, veggies, as well as gourmet hot drinks. I’m currently staying a hotel in York which their breakfast isn’t included in their nightly rate. 30 pounds daily for 2 of us is slightly disappointing than what we had at Residence Inn. 8) there were few restaurants a block away including soderberg, a Malaysian restaurant, and few cafes.
