White Lodge

We stayed here which proved a great base for visiting the Cotswolds. Our room had everything we needed, (even a fridge which is unusual in UK)
Our bed was comfortable and ensuite good and everything freshly painted and clean.
We enjoyed our freshly cooked breakfasts each morning.
We loved watching the antics of the squirrels on the back lawn whilst eating breakfast.

I had to stay overnight (was performing as part of the English Symphony Orchestra) and didn't want to go far. The many advantages of this place:
1) about a mile from the M5
2) super-quiet (was worried about that, but triple-insulated)
3) perfectly and exquisitely clean
4) one of the owners not in the least bothered by my showing up around 10.15, due to concert finishing later than I'd thought
5) excellent, traditional English breakfast.

Really lovely place. Highly recommend.

Wanting to stay near to the Cotswolds district I searched online for suitable accommodation. Since I was travelling with my elderly mother I also wanted a room with twin beds and a shower. The White Lodge met our needs. 

Pam, our host met us at the door and her husband was kind enough to carry two suitcases upstairs to our room. While the room was not overly large it was fine for sleeping in plus there was a mini fridge, microwave and tea and coffee supplies.

Breakfast was served in a lovely room surrounded by a charming garden. We were fascinated by the antics of several squirrels who darted around. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very filling. 

When we mentioned that we were going to drive around the Cotswolds Pam provided us with a map showing a couple of different routes. 

The only drawback was a narrow driveway, which doesn’t easily accommodate several cars.

Just returned from a one night stay here. For the price this B&B is very good value. The whole place is spotlessly clean & we found the owners to be very friendly & attentive. Ok so the decor could do with being updated but it's homely so hey ho! Despite being on a busy roundabout we heard no traffic in our downstairs room & slept well. The breakfast was adequate & freshly cooked. Their huge garden is lovely & our dog enjoyed a good sniff around ( we were charged £8 for the dog) 
All in all we enjoyed our stay here & I would just say don't be put off by any negative reviews!

This place is very hard to find as it is accessed direct from a huge roundabout and partially hidden by trees and bushes. Our bedroom was a bit claustrophobic because of the furniture.  However the ancient vast beds which filled up much of the room were incredibly comfortable! The breakfast was excellent. I am not sure about the owners. He seemed to be in a daze and she was pleasant but not exactly overwhelming in her greeting. I would go back if it meant I could sleep in that gorgeous antique bed. It was value for money.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights early July 2019

Lovely, typically English place, not a single wrong note

Friendly hosts and a charming garden

Exceptionally clean & comfortable

Everything was immaculate

As on-course bookmakers we travel all over the country and stay in various b & b’s and we count ourselves lucky to find ones where we feel secure, with good parking Pand decent breakfasts and we thought we had ticked all the boxes with the White Lodge. 

We stayed here several times last year and booked in January for the three or four times we were down for the races over the course of this season. My husband rang the week before our stay to confirm our bookings and to enquire if anything had changed. He was assured everything was fine. 

On arrival after our days work, Pam informed us that because of the pricing structures for racedays at nearby establishments she had decided to put up her prices for our other stays. This was going to be by £50 per night so instead of paying £125 for a double and a single it would be £175 - a staggering rise of 30%. 

This we both felt was totally unacceptable as we had booked well in advance in good faith and had even rung ahead to ask if there were any changes. 

My husband tried to reason with Pam and even offered to meet her half way but to no avail so we have cancelled our other bookings and found alternative accommodation. 

We are all just trying to run our businesses and this was going to be a very big hike to our expenses. 

To say we are disappointed is an understatement.
