Beaver

I have been staying at The Beaver Hotel every time I've come to London - since 2005. The location can't be beat, right down the street from the Earl's Court Tube station and conveniently located to lots of great restaurants and pubs on Old Brompton Road, Cromwell, etc. Another plus is the property is in an old building up a neighborhood street, so one feels like a local walking "home",True enough, the rooms are certainly spartan and a bit worn around the edges, but the rates are low and include a better-than-continental breakfast with eggs made to order, toast, yogurts, cereals, etc. The only major downside is that the property is closed during the Christmas holiday timeframe.
