Amazing place to stay.Very clean, lovely hosts and a wonderful breakfast.Would certainly recommend.

Excellent service, staff and room, a real hidden gem in the small village. People were so friendly and staff were helpful and room was very well stocked and looked lovely, will use again.

Friendly,  helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Delicious evening meal served in the bar. Room was very spacious. A little worn but very clean.

We stayed here for a short break . We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived . Excellent service from all staff . Lovely location as 5 mins walk from Sherwood Forest visitor centre . Great choice of breakfasts and vast food menu to suit all - all reasonable priced . The owners know how to look after their guests and you know they are are well liked and respected as the locals also drink in there Will return Steve and Bridget ( room 2 )

Great Friendly Hotel, easy to relax and food was of a high quality. Great value and service. Would highly recommend.

Great location, food was excellent and staff very friendly

The room was excellent with a surprising amount of space, clean and all the usual amenities you'd need. It was nice and quiet as it could be considering the adjacent road.Both dinner options in the pub and breakfast in the restaurant on the other side were delicious with plenty of choice. At every stage the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.Well done and thank you!

The location the room, staff and breakfast were all superb and would definitely return.Beautiful big bath.Only downsides were, accessing the room, if you have a pushchair then don’t bother! Awkward steps The fire alarm went off 4 times up until about 8.30pm ish (which isn’t ideal when trying to get a baby to sleep.However lovely stay x

Family stay

Highly recommend - couldn’t fault !

We really enjoyed this vintage pub with cosy, modern rooms upstairs in Robin Hood’s backyard. Taking daughter to uni in Nottingham so this was an ideal stop.The kitchen was closing at 8 so we arrived just  in time to grab a tasty bite from extensive menu. A bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich on crusty bread was washed down with a couple of draught beers while watching the Champions League along with the bar’s friendly lab.Triple room nicely decorated was ideal for us with power shower and good night’s sleep. Window onto street but didn't notice traffic noise.Can’t say I’ve had a fire grate in a bathroom before but along with the wooden vaulted ceilings in the dining room, it showed the inn’s character.Eggs Benedict and all sorts of other al la carte breakfast was tasty.Much better value than bland hotel chains.Will be back if in area again.

My Daughter and I have just had a 2 night stay at the Forest Lodge having traveled up from Kent for a wedding.On arrival we were greeted and immediately were made to feel welcome , nothing was a problem , All the staff were amazing and we would like to say a huge thank you for making our stay so pleasurable . Would highly recommend 👍🙂

My wife and I enjoyed a truly amazing Indian meal at this first class pub and hotel..
Seriously it was one of the very best quality meals we have had in a long long time..
We had the Rogan Josh and it was delicious..
The naan breads were the best ever too..
Highly recommended and we’re planning another visit very soon with friends..

Amazing food..

Great stay. We arrived on the last night of the previous owners and the first night of the new (a two night stay)- both were extremely helpful. Breakfast was great, room 7 was quiet and comfortable, clean. And well equipped. We’ll definitely stay again. Food is good quality and good value and pub is great

Great little find

We have recently been to forest lodge for a 60th birthday meal and there was 30 of us and I would just like to thank all the staff for making it a lovely experience. The food was beautiful, it came out quickly and with no confusion. All the staff were very helpful and brilliant with our 2 toddlers. Thank you! We will definitely be back :)

Great service and food

Plenty and easy parking. When I entered the bar, I was confronted with Theakstone's on draught, real ale, which is one of my all time favourites (only temporarily available) so I knew that my stay was going to be excellent. Nice food, very friendly staff and nice breakfast. It was my first stay, but hopefully not my last. My routing when travelling in the UK varies, but I hope I can include the Forest Lodge in my future travel plans. It would be worth driving a bit extra to arrive here.

Probably the best stay in the area

Stayed for one night. We were welcomed warmly and given directions to our room - if you have mobility issues this probably isn't the place for you as the room was up (and down) stairs due to the age of the building.The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Tea/coffee was available.We ate in the restaurant and the food was both plentiful and very tasty and reasonably priced. There was a choice of cooked items for breakfast and again the service was very good.Would stay here again and recommend to others
