Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

Stayed at this hotel three nights. We arrived a bit frustrated due to driving in Edinburgh through a congestion zone, through a low emission zone, then the GPS took us into a bus only street - where every bus then decided to peep us and stop right on my rear bump and to top it off the GPS lead us into a tram, taxi and bus zone and again the drivers weren’t patient to say the least. Anyway the two staff members at reception went out of their way to help us and were very kind - one was David and the other was a middle aged lady. Although busy the lifts were quick. We parked at the Q5 lot with a hotel discount just around the corner within a five minute walk and easy to do. The hotel room was comfortable and we had views looking north. It had a safe, dryer, towel rail, fridge and air conditioning. The bed was comfortable and room clean. We had dinner there but unfortunately it was abit underrated but service was good. Breakfast was standard but the coffee and tea good. Our bathroom and shower was a great size and clean with nice towels. Room needs a power point or USB point on the other side of the bed though. The location of the hotel is central on Princess street with a ten minute walk to the Royal mile, five minutes to Calton Hill and a large shopping centre. The staff were very friendly during our stay.
