Highly recommended as an escape from the the tourist-saturated hotspots of England. We had a very relaxing couple of days here. Cavens Country House is a substantial property in very tranquil location, far enough from the road to be completely free of noise. Angus is a great host and the food was lovely. This area of Scotland is strangely overlooked despite having a very attractive and varied coastline. We visited in August, at a time when the Lake District (where we live) is overcrowded and best avoided.
