We enjoyed our stay here.   The breakfast was fantastic, but our room a little disappointing.  The carpet was dirty and there was a unpleasant smell in the bathroom.  Basically, the hotel needs a refurb and modernisation.   However, the location is brilliant and staff lovely and that counts for a lot.

GREAT LOCATION

Perfectly situated close to the town centre, this inn is very welcoming.  The staff were excellent.  There was ample room in the car park which seems to be controlled efficiently.
The food was wonderful and the room was comfortable and exceptionally clean.  I was a little concerned that I was allocated a dog friendly room when I thought I’d booked a non-dog room. However, everything was so clean and there was no odour or evidence of dog, I decided it was fine.  A nice touch was the fridge on the landing with fresh milk for tea making. There were supposed to be jugs there but there weren’t and non appeared either that night or the following morning. I just took the milk to my room and then took it back again.  It was only a minor thing. I mentioned these concerns on check out and they were very apologetic and concerned.  In fairness they were very busy.  Breakfast was superb.
I only stayed one night but I would definitely stay there again if I needed to be in Corbridge and I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Great place to stay

Good location in the village, nice view from front windows, room airy and bright. Staff helpful. Dinner menu good. However, the place needs a really good clean - staircase carpets filthy, laundry lying around, corridor cluttered.Only 1 staff at breakfast - supplies lacking and empty. Cooked breakfast good though.

Stayed for one night in February 2024 and I would again.  Cosy and comfortable room and a really big bathroom - not too high though. I'm only 5' 10 and even my head was nearly touching the showerhead (but that's a minor quibble).

Nice view over the road. Corbridge itself has got a lot of history about it including the Roman town remains a very short drive or a slightly longer walk away. For the size of the place there's loads of pubs, the ones we visited were all great.

The hotel has a car park that you need to validate your presence in at the hotel reception.

The breakfast was one of the best I've had at hotel of this style and their black pudding was to die for.

All the team there we met were great and are a credit to the place. Well done.

PS - Other half couldn't find a hair dryer there - I don't look for obvious reasons.

Excellent value hotel with loads of character.

and I say that because Corbridge is some way off the Hadrian's Wall Path I was walking:  I even struggled a little to find my way from Path to Hotel!  But it was well worth the effort.  My room, with both bed and double bunk (great for repacking), and an excellent bathroom, was clean, warm, spacious and delightful, oh, and quiet, despite a window looking onto a roof.  The (largely young) staff went out of their way to respond to my questions and requests in a friendly and professional manner, and I ended up glad that my itinerary had to include two nights here.

Worth the detour

We stayed here as part of a coast to coast cycle. We had a spacious and comfortable room above The Angel Inn with everything we needed available.
Staff were friendly and welcoming and the pub closed at a reasonable time so there wasn't any late night noise to keep us awake. We set off early the next morning but were given tasty egg butties to take away as we missed breakfast.
We also ate dinner in the pub and had excellent, fresh, plant based starter and mains.

A really convenient place to stay - easy access to Northumberland and Durham and some nice walks close by.  Staff friendly and very helpful.  Room pleasant and well-kept with very good shower.  Bar/restaurant offers a wide choice of good food and breakfasts are excellent.  Coffee is brilliant and the tables out front are a good place to watch the world go by.  Always space in the car park but no CCTV there so damage to my car can't be followed up.  We spent 4 nights there.

A good place to stay in a good location.

Stayed here many times over the years visiting my parents who live in Corbridge and really like the place. HOWEVER...on Friday 19th May my parents, who are over 80, had an awful dining experience (about 19:30 to 21:00) due to the dining area (which is the bar area too) being incredibly crowded and loud.They normally try to eat at 18:30 when it is quieter so if you are older or have older parents/relatives try to eat earlier in the evening if possible. During the week it is quieter mind you and never had this problem with crowding and noise.

I had not been to this bar restaurant for a long time, I will not leave it so long until I next visit as the whole experience was excellent.

I had the daily special which was halibut cooked to perfection in a beautiful sauce with accompaniments to complement it.

An added bonus was the low prices and high standard of cooking and presentation.

The staff gave us a warm welcome and were attentive.

I am not usually a fan of pub food, often finding the skills of the chefs to be lacking. This pub stands out as a shining example of how it should be done.

What a catch

Very enjoyable stay, lovely hotel, well situated in the town, close to everything. Reasonable drink and food prices, friendly staff and a comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent and made to order. Downsides - The toilet seat in our bathroom was knackered though and looked like it should have been replaced some time back! (Room7)
