342 reviewsLovely staff, beautiful venue, dream wedding! My husband and I saw this venue on a photographer's page and knew from the moment we saw it that we needed to visit as we were searching for wedding venues at the time. The photo showed the front of the venue, surrounded by beautiful red trees and autumn colours, and that was the first sign it could be our dream venue. We arranged a visit to see Maddison, our most frequent contact from the very first meeting until the wedding day itself, and throughout the time we were planning and organising she was supportive, professional, kind and just generally lovely. Alongside her help, we had the assistance of Nathan and Emily, two other event coordinators at the venue, and both were a pillar of excellence for the duration of our correspondence. Side note: I want to thank both Maddison and Nathan personally for keeping this paranoid bride as calm as possible, despite me having asked at least a thousand questions via email between them... When we arrived at the venue the first time, I knew in my tummy that it was the perfect choice. I trusted my gut feeling when I picked my prom dress (the first I tried on) and that same feeling came over me when I looked around Eaves Hall. We had intended on having an autumnal theme anyway, so not only were the grounds perfect but the venue itself was magnificent and magical, stately and serene, just everything we were looking for all at once. To add a cherry on top, the total price for everything was very competitive, considering another wedding venue we had considered (30 minutes from this one) was charging almost the same for the use of the venue ONLY. We booked in for a taster evening to try out the canapes we were thinking of having on the day, and both my husband Adam and I, alongside my parents, all grouped together to decide on the best food and wine choices from the menu we chose. Naturally, everything was utterly delicious, both at the taster evening and on the day itself. The day prior to the wedding, Adam and I dropped off some of the decor we'd ordered for the ceremony, for the staff to set up the following morning, along with a (embarrassingly detailed) document showing the seating arrangements for our guests and certain decor placement information. I'm thankful to anyone who came across this for not thinking i'm ridiculous, particularly Nathan who I'm certain was not feeling very well and yet listened ardently to everything I asked of him and the other staff. After Adam had left, my bridesmaids and I received our keys to the lodge, wherein we stayed that evening, and we had a wonderful time eating pizza and sweets and watching rom-coms - just what I needed to relax! The lodge itself is beautifully designed inside, in keeping with the design of the interior rooms of the main hall, and with incredibly comfortable beds too. Everything (other than food and cold drinks) are provided for you - there's even a dishwasher in there! Tip for anyone staying in the lodge - in the colder months, bring layers to wear while the building heats up, it takes a while! On the morning of the wedding, we stayed until 11am and, after a visit from Maddison to make sure we were all settled, we then moved up to the Kemple/Bridal Suite where my bridesmaids had some time to relax while my hair and makeup were being done. We were also given some glasses of refreshing elderflower fizz, which rounded it all off nicely. I will admit, leaving the decor and everything in the hands of the staff and our florist did make me very anxious leading up to the day as I'm usually the organiser in these situations, but I was so unusually calm that morning, and I was right to have been! Adam and I couldn't have been more blown away by every little detail of the dining room, where we had our ceremony, breakfast and evening celebrations, dressed to the nines in perfect autumn magic. At this point we'd also like to thank Tom who acted as our toastmaster for the day. He made sure everything/everyone was where they were supposed to be, at the right time, and everything in-between! That night, we had a lovely sleep (albeit a short one as we went to bed around 3am) in the beautifully soft marshmallow bed of the Pendle Suite, which we picked as the romantic balcony was one of the highlights of the venue for us. This was even better in the morning as we saw the sun rise and could wave to guests who were heading home in the early hours. Breakfast was delicious too, with a range of cold and freshly-made hot food available for all guests staying, and we were all full and happy before finally leaving the venue around 11am post-checkout. Thank you also to the kitchen staff for wrapping our remaining pieces of cake and desserts too! In short, if you're looking for a beautiful venue situated in fabulous surroundings with an excellent team of staff to propel you through your special event, look no further. You've found the best one! Wishing the entire team all the best and every success for the future. (NOTE: Any use of the below photos requires credit to the photographers, Evans & Evans Photography.
