Nice location, lovely view and great facilities.

Gorgeous room, lovely location, great hosts! Had a few nights away and a wicked mini holiday and this property was perfect to stay over! Highly recommended! Works for families or couples, close to Black Gang chine and driving distance of a lot of places. 

Nothing to NOT like. Everything more than expected and kids didnt want to leave. Great place to use as a base then relax in the evening.

We have just returned from a brilliant 5 night stay at Chale Bay Farm. This is a hidden gem with stunning scenery and generous accommodation. We stayed in Purbeck (2 adults, 1 toddler) which was very spacious and well equipped. The owners have really thought of everything which makes it a really comfortable stay with a nice blend of traditional furnishings with some excellent technology.
Our son loved the dinosaur at the entrance and seeing the goldfish every day on our way out. There is a brilliant family country pub a short walk down the road with good food and a kids playground which came in handy. 
I think the overall living space is larger than many alternatives which makes it perfect for both a small family holiday or a multi generational larger trip - an ideal base to explore the island. Most notable attractions are within a 15-20 drive and we personally liked the slightly quieter surroundings than other major towns. 
We will definitely be returning in the future - highly recommend.

We've just returned from a 5 night stay at Chale Bay Farm, in a beautiful and well equipped apartment. It was a great base to explore from, with the most stunning landscape all around you.

We stayed in St Catherine's View which I think is the largest, with 2 separate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/diner/lounge area and a patio. The weather for our holiday was less than perfect, so it was really good to have the extra space as we spent longer indoors than we normally would. The apartment was clean & nicely furnished, the kitchen very well equipped with everything you need and the thoughtful hosts leave you with bits & bobs (including a fresh pint of milk) to get you settled. Shampoo/conditioner/soap in the bathrooms was a nice quality too.

There's also a small gym and sauna on site for guest use, and a massive DVD library. 

The hosts live on site and are there if you need them but invisible if you don't - we definitely did need them, since we came in an electric car without a charging cable. Hugely grateful to Steve for loaning us his cable (twice) so we could use the charging point in the Farm car park. I'm not entirely sure what we would have done!

We would love to come back to Isle of Wight one day, and would definitely stay here again - there really is nothing at all to pick fault with at Chale Bay Farm x

What a lovely place! We stayed in St Catherine’s View and were very impressed with the accommodation and location. The Owners were really responsive to the questions we asked and very attentive. The air conditioning in the apartment was a godsend as we stayed during the heatwave. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well equipped and so ideal with young children. Our granddaughters loved it and there was plenty of space, with fantastic views, for them to run around. The pub opposite was ideal to pop across to for a bite o eat. All in all an excellent place and
we will definitely return. 😊

We found the accommodation to be excellent,it was very comfortable and had a very high standard of cleanliness ,the kitchen was compact but had a washing machine/dryer,fridge ,freezer and dishwasher which the owner had provided detergents and tablets for,there was also tea coffee and milk and sugar .The accomodation benefits from outstanding views of both the sea and rolling countryside.There are a few pubs situated less than 10 minutes drive in either direction which served very good pub grub at very reasonable prices.Overall I would definitely recommend this accommodation if you would like to enjoy a quiet relaxing break.The property is completely non smoking including the outside patio areas.

My friends and I have stayed at Chale Bay for the past few years, and will continue to do so as long as they will welcome us!

The rooms are spacious and well equipped for self catering. The views are stunning and it’s oh so peaceful. There is plenty of dedicated off road parking there too - enough to park a bus or 6!

With current Covid restrictions in place, Steve and Charlotte continue to operate as normal as possible, although there are understandable changes made, such as an earlier check out and a later check in. This is to allow rooms to be adequately cleaned and sanitised between guests.

If you don’t feel like cooking, the Wight Mouse opposite is heartily recommended, and there are other restaurants a short drive away.

An amazing place

We stayed here in the Needles View cottage for a week. We were me and my 19 month old son and my parents. We also had the adjoining room for them and my son and I slept in the main cottage. 

It was fantastic! The rooms were spacious and really nicely decorated (though you could tell they were mid renovation) and the mezzanine bedroom was really great for my son to sleep in. 

The air con was great and I can imagine would have been so useful a few weeks before. 

The kitchen was well stocked with essential equipment. 

Only a couple of things to think about though if you are travelling with young children

1) the living / dining area is completely carpeted with new cream carpets. They are lovely, but you might want to take plastic sheet to put under any high chairs. My son isn't too messy but I would have been so worried had we not had that. 

2) the travel cot only has the basic matress so you might want to bring another one so it is more comfortable. 

Other than that, great and we will come back for sure.

fantastic base

Just as the advertising said. Everything was quality - towels so thick and plentiful in particular. A shame the B & B side is ceasing but can understand that having young children it is very restricting. It will be lovely for families as long as its not too expensive. We had ideal weather which made it an extra special holiday in our Golden Wedding year. The breakfasts were cooked to absolute perfection and the staff lovely.

We were stranded when Hertz abandoned us and Mercedes Roadside Assistance took the broken down car away and I have never had so much help from a proprietor before.  Above and beyond service at this place.  It was so peaceful, we didn't even know we weren't the only ones until everyone was at breakfast the next day.  We highly recommend this place.

Weather was not very good so couldn't enjoy the view that this setting suggests is there but with a little imagination could envisage it being beautiful with a clear sky, sunny day. Guest house was lovely, very comfortable and all the little touches show a nice eye for detail. Bed was exceptionally comfortable as good as ours at home!! Great night's sleep so wouldn't hesitate to go back there when we visit relatives again.

This hotel was beautiful, nice and quiet area with lovely views. Beds where really comfortable and rooms where lovely and clean. Toileteries left on a daily basis and plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Mini bar available at a reasonable cost if you required anything. Lovely breakfast, with everything you could possibly want and no limit. Owners very helpful, polite and friendly as were all the staff. Ideally located for people who don't mind travelling, but don't forget the island isn't that big anyway, but you must have a car to stay here. Would definitely stay here again.
