Dalston Hall Hotel

This was our 2nd visit to the Dalston Hall and it didn’t disappoint. Our room (room 3) was immaculate and had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty to choose from.  Lovely staff and a gorgeous venue. We will definitely return for visit number 3. Thank you to all of the staff and the resident ghost for our good night’s sleep.

What a great place to stay best place we have ever stayed. Room was large with period features. The hall has period features through out beautiful grounds . Staff friendly nothing to much trouble.  Breakfast was quality evening meal on another level can't wait to come back

My daughter got married here and I have to say we couldn't fault it from start to finish. Everything went without a glitch, the day was perfect. The place and grounds are stunning. The food was lovely. Thank you to everyone at Dalston Hall for making my daughters wedding so magical. Nothing was any trouble. 

Just returned from a weekend break at Dalston hall hotel. 
Room was amazing with the view overlooking the grounds. The room was huge it had a king sized bed a chaise long , an open fireplace and you still had so much room you could party lol. The bathroom was huge as well with a bath Which was so deep you could just laze in it and a huge shower cubicle, there was also a double sink.
Food was exceptional, included in our stay was breakfast- the choices were unbelievable. I had eggs Benedict which was absolutely delicious on the first day and a full English the next. Dinner you were spoilt for choice I had prawn cocktail the first night and fish and chips (this was more like whale and chips) my husband had the creamy garlic mushrooms, followed by vegetable wellington. The 2nd night I had pate followed by beef burger and my husband had game terrine followed by chicken stuffed with chorizo wrapped in Parma ham. The deserts sounded fantastic but only managed to try the cheese board one night as we were too full. We missed the afternoon tea on the Friday due to travelling up so the boxed up an afternoon tea for us to take home. 
The staff were all polite and professional especially Sam who did amazing job to cope with us all staying there and making sure everyone was happy, fed and watered.
All in all this is a fabulous venue and can’t wait to go back again.

Beautiful grade 2 listed building, with lovely large rooms, in keeping with the history.  Got this deal as a present via travelzoo, and it did not disappoint.  Breakfast, Afternoon tea and Dinner were all excellent, and the service, from a small team, was friendly & fantastic.  Couldn't recommend this place enough for a quality short break.

We visited Carlisle for a wedding at Carlisle Racecourse and booked into Dalston Hall for two nights. The building is stunning and beautifully kept. It’s primarily used as a wedding venue and there’s signs of this everywhere. The building is so lovely I’d be tempted to marry my husband all over again just to be able to hold the ceremony there. 

There’s a copy of the Ghost Stalkers II book earmarked with the ghostly activity in Dalston Hall, but we didn’t witness anything. We stayed in the infamous room 13, although we didn’t have any spectral visitors that we know of. 

We must say a big thank you to the night porters, Terry and Ben who looked after us incredibly well. 

Even though we live at the other end of the country (Wiltshire), we would make the journey to stay here again. Highly recommend Dalston Hall, not just for the ghosts and architecture, but also for the staff and great welcome that this place offers.

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop over and what a beautiful Hotel with stunning grounds. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous bed is very comfortable as are the pillows, plenty tea, coffee hot chocolate etc in the rooms also. Decent choices for breakfast which was served efficiently and was piping hot. Julie who checked us in was very friendly and a lovely lady, she also served us at the bar and had time for a friendly chat and help with local restaurants and amenities. Would definitely stay here again and recommend. Ideal for weddings also.

All staff were extremely helpful friendly and attentive.

The room was clean and comfortable. 
A selection of cooked breakfasts were available. The full English Breakfast was good.  

The grounds and building are beautiful.

Great experience staying at this hotel. We stayed in room 1, which was a really good size, big four poster bed, jacuzzi bath. 
Can't say enough good things about the staff; Terry and Ben the night staff, were brilliant, really friendly and knowledgeable and always offered to help us carry stuff up to the room! Jenny, Debbie and Marc were brilliant also, and they couldn't do enough for us. Marc took his time to get to know us and he also entertained our toddler which was appreciated! 

It doesn't feel like a Hotel. More of a private Mansion with Butler and Cook. Lg Fires and music playing in the background created a nice atmosphere.  All the wedding guests had a great time.  All in all very very good pricing.  Bars are Card only which makes it easy at the bar....Maybe to easy. :)

Stunning hotel and grounds

Excellent hotel, even better staff 

Lots of Grounds, maybe 15 to 20 Acres, they have their own helicopter pad.
The team all very friendly and efficient. As a customer I felt that everyone says Hello and is genuine.  Feels like a family house with professional staff, very easy to forget you are in a business.  Local Licensing meant our bar had to close by 12am for the wedding - this didnt make it any easier to organise a taxi. Id recommend booking a taxi well in advance.  If you are the bride and groom a bus or fleet of minibuses may be an idea.

Very Good Value

Having recently been discharged from hospital following an operation, my wife booked this place so I could have a night away from home and to recuperate.

So glad we came here, the hotel itself is impressive architecturally as well as having some wonderful grounds to stroll in.

Decor was lovely, lots of old antiques- the bedroom were very tastefully decorated and large, with a large bed which was comfortable and had good quality bedding.
Tea/coffee/hot chocolate all in the room although a few biscuits would have been nice- my blood sugars must have been low.
Our bathroom had a roll too bath which was a delight to lounge in.

Breakfast was delicious, fry up and a few small warm croissants beforehand just to add a few extra calories in the morning.

Staff were lovely, turns out this place is under new management and the old owner who was a Basil Fawlty type and his family that ran the place gone, in place now is a team that’s very professional within the hospitality business but also small enough for the personal touches.

Shall return again.
