Angus Hotel

We stayed for one night while doing Hadrian's Way. It is handily located for that trail and easy to find. It also offered us an early check in so we didn't have to hang about once we'd completed the first section of our route - just as well as it was the wettest day of our holiday! The room was clean, well laid out , comfortable and quiet. It also had a large bathroom (good to spread our wet gear out) and an excellent shower. They normally do evening meals, but this had not reopened following lockdown. This was not a problem as they was a choice of eating venues nearby - the one we chose was only 100 metres away. At this time , cooked breakfasts weren't available, but each room had a small fridge which contained an excellent continental breakfast. To compensate for the lack of cooked breakfasts they generously provided us with free packed lunches, which was much appreciated. Although no staff were available on site until 6pm the self check in worked well and when we met them they were helpful and friendly. A great start to our holiday and we would definitely stay again if visiting Carlisle and would recommend it to others.
