The George Hotel

The Room were excellent. The Staff were all extremely helpful.The Meals were excellent as well.

Really enjoyed our stay at the George The location is good, a short walk to both high and low town areas of Bridgnorth town centre.Parking available opposite the hotel at the severn valley railway £4 for 24 hours.Room was very nice if I'm being hyper critical the bathroom could do with a little TLC The real bonus is the restaurant in the hotel that is as long as you enjoy Nepalese/Indian food really tasty and very reasonable price.The ladies who run the hotel are really nice and hard working. Would i return. Yes definitely Thank you for your hospitality

Aboustly fantastic stay at the george hotel couldn't fault at all amazing staff very friendly and polite nothing was to much trouble for them food amazing one happy customer definitely be booking there again.

The staff  was very friendly  the rooms was lovely and clean  breakfast was delicious  looking  to book to go back in April

Beds are very comfortable. Safe very welcoming and very friendly

Enjoyed our stay their was a language barrier and there is no parking. We stayed here and ate out. Room was clean and comfortable

Very clean, lovely rooms and excellent staff. Didn't eat there but the restaurant was full.

The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive,  hotel is clean and in a good location , bar and food are great

Pub which has been converted into an Indian Restaurant.Very attentive and friendly service. Nice modern room opposite the steam railway. Easy access to town centre with shopping bars cafes restaurants etc. Good breakfast included. Parking available opposite (£4 for 24 hrs).Only negative comment was pounding music from below however to be fair this ended at 10.30 so did not interfere with sleeping.

Pub with rooms close to the centre of Bridgnorth

Just under new management nepalese so the room we had was a double room with ensuite bathroom the room was clean and fresh towels not big but enough room to walk around the bed .windows opened onto roof and was facing the road opposite railway station was not noisy tho ,kettle and tea/coffee making also small tv .it was very warm in the room making it a little uncomfortable to sleep and the negative was the boom boom of the music coming from the resturant of an evening which they switched off at 10 oclock but if you wanted an early night it wasnt happening.the shower was great powerful .We where asked each evening what we wanted for breakfast(i wouldve rather decided on the morning what i wanted ) they had choice of full english,scrambled eggs,poached eggs we did have bacon and egg on toast one morning  the staff cant do enough for you always smiling and wanting to please.there was a bar and the hotel is also a resturant serving nepalese and indian food which is amazing so good people came from outside and the resturant was busy every evening .parking was opposite in the railway staion carpark a cost of £4 for 24hrs so convienient .i would recomend staying here as central for low and high town the owners i think are finding there feet but the girls cant be more helpful

Great and central to everything

After reading the last couple of reviews I had doubts on wether to cancel or not, I’m so glad I didn’t !
We booked the family room (Tornado) the room is more like a little flat, living room, kitchen large bathroom.
Everything in there was clean, bed linen & towels smelt lovely, kitchen & bathroom spotless , bed was really comfortable with excellent pillows !
We knew that the pub had a live band playing and there would be noise but it was all done and dusted by 11pm
Lovely crowd of people in the pub, very friendly.
Breakfast in the morning was spot on, couldn’t complain at all .
We will definitely return and would recommend it to friends and family 💯
Please give it a try , the reality of it is that some people want champagne & caviar on a pie and a pint price !!! Great value for money I’d say 👍🏻

Perfect place

I turned up with no reservation around 11 in the morning a lovely lady called Karen I think ? was at the bar I asked her if there was a room available she was very professional welcoming she had a look at her book and said yes we have. 
She let me have and early check in that was amazing as I was tried from traveling and needed to sleep
The room was lovely with ensuite bathroom and shower and very comfortable and modern and clean. 
I was working on the night at a local theatre and when I returned to the pub later it was still open so had a few drinks and went to bed I slept amazingly. 
The breakfast was a pre order and time which was great for me as I set my alarm I went down at 9.15 to a lovely charm breakfast area the waitress was there to welcome me with a good morning and my coffee and my breakfast was with me in no time my poached eggs on toast they was lovely. 
There is great parking across the road for £4 for 24 hours that’s fab and I left my car there as Bridgnorth is a nightmare to park anywhere. 
Overall a fantastic place to stay and a great bar and friendly staff and it was great value for money what more can you ask for

A fantastic place to eat drink and stay

We arrived around 11am and parked across the road at the railway. We spent the day on the railway and arrived back at Bridgnorth at 6pm. Check in was quick and Sue showed us to our room. I couldn't believe that we had a bedroom, bathroom with a bath and shower, kitchen and a living room! All were beautifully clean with plenty of towels, shampoos/shower gels and tea/coffee. 

I had booked a table for dinner and we arrived downstairs to a reserved table. There was plenty of choice on the menu. I chose the chicken and leek pie while my partner had steak. His steak was cooked perfectly and my pie was delicious and huge! Sue made sure that we didn't have to queue at the bar for drinks and bought them to our table. 

The pub had a tribute to Elton John who was really good. The atmosphere was fantastic and  fun. Marcus also played piano and sang at the end of the evening ( he's very good too)
 
Had a lovely nights sleep and arrived downstairs for breakfast. Not only did they have cereals, yoghurt and fruit.  But there was a menu with a choice of cooked Breakfasts. Freshly brewed coffee/tea and juice were also available . I had a full breakfast and it was cooked lovely. 

I have to say that I've never stayed anywhere that makes you feel at home like Sue and Marcus did.  I will definitely be back as there was nothing I could fault at all.

Fantastic stay!

Just got back from a couple of nights break. Marcus and sue make you so welcome. So lovely and cosy. The weather was so bitter cold. But the grorge was homely and warm. This is our 3rd visit and would recommend.a walk up the hill to the High Street.plenty of pubs. All decorated for Christmas. Look forward to seeing you again.

From the moment  we arrived we had a fabulous  time .parking across the rd  bedroom  really all you need .evening meal was delicious. The bar was so much fun with Shropshire  locals. We had beautiful  brands x coffee after dinner .breakfast  was hot and just what we need 
Will be staying here again in December  for a few days.  Loved meeting sue x Marcus.

We have a hotel in Blackpool  and been going working so hard  we felt we need a break so l booked this pub to stay in .all l can

The nicest place I've ever stayed, Great atmosphere,  A band played on the night, brilliant,  followed by the landlord Marcus smashing out rock n roll songs on his piano, Very clean and welcoming place, The cooked breakfast has got to be the best I've had, I can not praise the place and staff enough, ..😃👍

We enjoyed our 2 night mid-week stay at the George. The room was well furnished. Breakfast and evening meal was to a good quality. The bar had a good selection of refreshments including local beers. As has been written in previous reviews, the staff were very welcoming and provided excellent service. The hotel is situated opposite the Severn Valley Railway Station and includes the use of their car park for free (save £4/night). 

The only caution I would offer is if you require a quiet room, be mindful the hotel is adjacent to the main road and rooms are above the bar area.  That said I too would be happy to return to the hotel & will recommend it to friends and family as a "good value, friendly hotel/pub in a handy location to explore Bridgnorth & the local area."
