Dave and Karen very friendly on arrival. Lovely room with a sea view. Bottle of wine provided as it was my wife’s birthday - nice gesture. Overall lovely place to stay with exceptional staff.

Amazing

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Balmoral hotel. We were welcomed by Dave who couldn’t do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay.Our room had been refurbished to a good standard and we had everything we needed.The central position this hotel is excellent and the car parking was a added bonus.

Plenty of parking, comfortable rooms, close to the beach with sea views, and very welcoming and friendly service!

Hotel is a little basic but very clean and almost too warm! Dave the manager was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

Room 30 is lovely with views of the sea and has a huge bathroom. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is really close to Bournemouth pier. The car park offers ample spaces. The rest of the hotel is a bit dated and work is underway to bring it up to date.

Lovely room with sea view

My wife and I enjoyed just one night at The Balmoral Hotel and we really could not have been better treated or more warmly welcomed.
We had booked a ground floor refurbished room but on arrival were asked if we minded  being moved to the bridal suite on the third floor. We were shown our original room, which was pleasant enough and would have been well worth the rate we were being charged. We were then shown the upgrade and frankly we were blown away.
It was fresh and clean and beautifully designed. Well equipped and had a brilliant view over the bay and out to sea. The bathroom was a talking point for my wife for the entire journey to our next destination. Large shower, bath and great complimentary toiletries. 
After dinner out, we returned to the hotel bar for a pre bedtime drink and enjoyed a short but pleasant conversation with the staff.
The staff seemed to really understand what they were doing and what the customer expects from a hotel.
After a very comfortable nights sleep I enjoyed a very satisfactory full English breakfast with some of the best bacon I have ever had. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast and unlike in some places it was a quite substantial portion of eggs.
There are criticisms to be made of the hotel. It is tired and in need of some TLC in places (but then so am I). The view over the car park is not great and it can feel a bit like a rabbit warren when you start to explore. But, and it's a big but, the owners are well aware of what needs to be done and are doing their very best to rectify the issues. It will take time but the rooms are priced accordingly. If you want the lowest room rates you book an unrefurbished room, if you want a refurbished room you will pay a little more. 
That seems totally fair to me. Don't complain about your room if you're not prepared to pay the difference.

A great pit stop 

Staff friendly and hotel clean but overall very dark and old fashioned

Excellent location for the Bournemouth International Conference Centre and the beach and pier. The hotel has been partly refurbished. Our room was still to be done, but although a little run down was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff and great location

Really nice place to stay, absolutely spotlessly clean, very friendly staff. Great location. We consider the most important thing about hotels/guest houses is the standard of cleanliness and The Balmoral was exceptionally clean. We stayed in a refurbished room with shower en suite. All the little things like hooks on bathroom door, a tray in shower for shampoo & shower gels, good storage for your clothes, just the little things that make a big difference. Fabulous resident’s sitting rooms/areas, with far reaching views across the sea. The breakfast menu is small but quality of food is very good and cooked like a ‘proper full English ‘! Will be returning for a weekend break in December.
