The Liver View

Had business meeting in Wallasey so found this: good prices and good reviews with the promise of free car parking - something that most Liverpool hotels don't or can't offer. Reviews looked good as did pic here - but on arrival it didn't quite live up to things on the face of it from the outside. However, worry not as excellent staff, spotless and freshly decorated rooms more than make up for it. Great size shower room, and bedside power sockets each had double usb charging ports - something that so few hotels have - really, really appreciated. Family-run, with owner Dave, mum Cheryl and friend Collette greeting, cleaning or cooking. It is a little of a rabbit warren upstairs - and there is no lift, so ask for room on first floor if that's an issue. But rooms are really comfortable, beds excellent and it's surprisingly quiet outside. The ferry terminal is a two-minute walk away, and Dave provides Metro cards which you can top up to gain a really economic day's travel on ferry train and bus on both sides of the Mersey. Breakfast cooked freshly as you want it; great, as everyone else has remarked! We had a minor health issue while there but Cheryl helped, and arranged help from 111 (who called an ambulance) - so sorry for worrying you all! Definitely a place to return to when our next meeting comes up. Dave is working through the hotel on a constant programme of updating and decorating; rooms and public areas are excellent but could maybe do with some pictures to 'personalise' it. Tiniest of quibbles: please acknowledge the Tripadviser reviews, good or bad. It's so refreshing when management takes the time to do this. But unfortunately so few do!
