We visited this weekend for the night and literally had the best time the staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean the breakfast was amazing and the lady Lee was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble will definitely stay again if we visit Birmingham

What a gem of a place! When we first pulled up we were slightly worried as its not the prettiest, however we were put at ease upon entering. All staff are more that accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely rooms, comfiest of beds. We had planned on going into Birmingham city centre but ended up staying in the bar as the locals were all lovely characters. 

Breakfast in the morning was top marks, thanks to the precious Lynn.

Definitely be staying here again very soon

Absolutely loved our stay here, from the first minute we were welcomed in like family. The people here are so genuine especially Lyn who helped with our breakfast in the morning.

Pub downstairs has pool table and live sports and our room was clean and tidy. Great price and will definitely be returning here on our next trip to birmingham!

Well the whole place was great everyone was so friendly especially Lynn who was a lush friendly face to welcome you in the morning with a banging brew and an even better breakfast! Defo would stay again, felt like home!

Last minute booking to travel for work, and I couldn't fault anything about it. Bed super comfy, lovely friendly people in the bar encouraged me to come down for a few drinks, and made an overnight stay for work feel like a mini holiday. 

Breakfast was fantastic, a very reasonable price and everything cooked beautifully. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Loved it.

Amazing place.  Staff made us feel very welcome ,very  clean , bedrooms are dated but a comfy sleep . Towels provided and coffee facilities outside of bedroom,  if you needed anything just ask staff who were very helpful to assist with needs . Breakfast was amazing and the lady in the kitchen needs a pay rise outstanding food,  thanks for making it an enjoyable stay.

Stayed here a few weeks ago with mates for a football game. I cannot fault anything. So cheap, free pool a complementary beverage the showers and on good pressure, beds are comfy atmosphere was great. 

So we decide to come back for 1 main reason above all else. THE STAFF. Absolutely fantastic, cheeky great craic and so welcoming to everyone. Breakfast being included with the deal when you book direct is such a bonus. Lynn made me an amazing Breakfast and was sympathetic towards my brutal hangover made me a coffee. 

Absolute credit to all those who made it an amazing experience and for sure will be coming back on my next venture to Birmingham. This is a credit to the city and highly reccomend to any groups of people looking for a great night out.

From entering the downstairs pub to a friendly welcome from Billy, I presume the landlord, to leaving next day after breakfast cooked by a lovely staff member, Annie, my stay at Shanahans was superb. It is the sort of place I love. Sure it won't be everyone's cup of tea, or more relevantly everyone's pint of guinness but this packed out establishment, well it is a Villa pub downstairs and Villa had just brilliantly beaten Southampton 4 - 0, full of approachable and fascinating characters, great food and music, with adequate bedrooms, a kitchen and small lounge area, was fine indeed and great value for money. Oh how I prefer to stay at a place with character instead of the boring uniformity of other more well known corporate places, such as Travelodge. Give me history, community and a sense of being one with a family. Stay at Shanahans but be prepared to join in with all that is going on.

Me and my husband stopped in apartment for two days. Rooms recently refurbished, lovely staff. Very friendly and helpful. Shanahans Pub oppersite the apartment. Which is great.! the food is excellent. Really enjoyed the meals .lots of choice. Great value for 💰 we had such a lovely time we stayed on for a further three days. We will Definatly be going back..xxxx thank you to all the staff and of course the boss.xxx

Fabulous staff, fabulous atmosphere and a comfortable room.

We stopped 6.11.2021 / 7.11.2021, after an awful experience with another B&B cancelling our reservation! 
They had a room for us & saved our skin. It was a last minute booking & their last room, so it was two single beds for us as a couple, but that's not their fault.  The beds were clean & cosy, there were clean white towels & an adjoining shower / toilet, plenty of plug sockets & drawers to put our belongings into. The room was spotless and the staff friendly and polite.
There's a bus stop right outside, and a day ticket is £4.50, a taxi is about £9.00 to New Street Station.
Thank you so, so much, you really saved our bacon!
